Is there something you collect, or perhaps a handmade piece you absolutely adore?

It appears I have a little bit of a soft spot for ceramics… particularly pieces from this artist Trudi 🫣

I love the whimsical style, the gorgeous colours and honestly, I feel like a kid in a sweet shop every time I visit their stand! 😂

Every piece is original. Nobody else has an identical one sitting in their home.There might be little quirks, variations or imperfections, and that’s exactly what makes it special.

My motto has always been, if you love it, you’ll enjoy it.

For us, that’s so much more exciting than simply buying something from a high street shelf because it happens to fit the latest trend or colour scheme, wouldn’t it be rather boring if everyone’s home looked the same?

Handmade brings personality. It connects you to the person who made it and often, it’s something you’ll treasure for years.

So we’d love to know…

“How do you find the time to run The Artisan Show?”

We get asked this quite a lot…and honestly,We don’t😂

We somehow just make it happen!

The truth is, The Artisan Show is very much a labour of love for us. Alongside organising the shows, we’re makers ourselves, so we completely understand the time, effort and commitment that goes into running a small creative business.

Behind those lovely event days are emails at ridiculous times of the evening, spreadsheets that seem to multiply overnight, venues to organise, makers to talk to, marketing to plan, marquees to arrange, signs to design, social media to keep up with… and approximately a million little jobs that nobody sees. 😂

And then of course, there’s the making, But we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We started The Artisan Show because we genuinely love handmade, quality craftsmanship and seeing other independent businesses succeed. We wanted to create events that celebrate all three, and give fellow makers a place where their work can be discovered, appreciated and bought directly from them.

So yes, sometimes we look at the to-do list and wonder how on earth are we going to fit all this in?! 😂

But then then we get sent photos like this…

Tired, slightly windswept, probably ready for a cup of tea or something stronger… but smiling 😊

Honestly, they’re the reason we do it!

It’s busy.
It’s exhausting.
It’s occasionally chaotic.
It’s a lot of hard work.

But we absolutely love it.

And perhaps the biggest secret to running The Artisan Show is…there’s always another cup of tea & biccy involved. ☕😂

WE’VE BEEN KEEPING A LITTLE SECRET…

For the past year, we have been quietly working behind the scenes on something very special for summer 2027… and we can finally share it with you!

We are absolutely delighted to introduce Elton Hall to The Artisan Show portfolio of stunning venues. And honestly… we think this one is rather special.

Tucked away in the beautiful Cambridgeshire countryside, Elton Hall is an extraordinary and romantic part-Gothic historic house that has been the home of the Proby family for more than 400 years.

Set within magnificent historic parkland and award-winning gardens, it is one of England’s finest privately owned stately homes. It’s the kind of place that makes you stop in your tracks.

One of the most important things for us when choosing a venue is the setting, and Elton Hall certainly doesn’t disappoint. From the moment you arrive, it feels like you’ve stepped into a romantic fairytale. And we cannot wait to fill this beautiful setting with an incredible collection of talented independent artists and makers.

✨ A Book Inspired by The Artisan Show – and We Couldn’t Be Prouder! ✨

Some moments remind us exactly why we do what we do… and this is definitely one of them.

If you’ve ever met Wendy, you’ll know just how warm, kind and genuinely lovely she is. Her passion for people, creativity and community shines through in everything she does, and we’re incredibly proud to have been part of her journey.

To know that The Artisan Show has been one of the inspirations behind her beautiful new book is such an honour. Even more special is the fact that we’re featured within its pages. It’s a privilege that means more to us than words can say.

One of the things we love most is seeing the friendships that have blossomed through The Artisan Show over the years. Wendy has built so many wonderful connections with fellow makers, creatives and small businesses, and it’s fantastic to see many of those familiar faces featured throughout the book too. It really is a celebration of the amazing community that has grown from the show.

This book isn’t just a story—it’s a reflection of Wendy’s journey, the friendships she’s made, the inspiration she’s found, and the incredible creative spirit that surrounds The Artisan Show. It’s a reminder of what can happen when talented people come together to support, encourage and inspire one another.

The gates may have closed on our spring & summer events… but behind the scenes, things are anything but quiet!

While it might look like we’re having a few weeks off, behind closed doors we’re already busy planning, organising and preparing for what’s next.

There are still two very exciting shows to come this year, but that’s not all…

We’ve been working on something rather special for 2027, but we’re not quite ready to reveal all just yet… let’s just say you’re going to want to stay tuned! 👀

This time last week it was shorts and T-shirts… now it’s brollies and raincoats!

We were so lucky with the weather for our summer show and we can’t quite believe that a week has passed already!

We’d just like to say another huge thank you to everyone who visited the Summer Event at Staunton Harold and to those who took the time to send us your wonderful feedback. It sounds like so many of you had a fantastic day, which means the world to us and all of the artists who took part. 🤗

If you enjoyed the show last week, we’re delighted to let you know that we’ll be returning to Staunton Harold in November for our annual Christmas celebration!

This time, the event will take place not only throughout the beautiful grounds, but also inside the stunning Georgian mansion itself, making it a truly magical setting for a festive day out.

🏆 Some happy news! 🏆

We’re delighted to announce the winners of our 2026 Summer Show, Best Dressed Stand competition!

The standard was incredibly high this year, and it was extremely difficult to choose just two winners, but these two displays particularly caught our eye. 😍

🥇 First Prize emma brown
Emma scooped up first prize with her impressive display, using beautiful rustic props to showcase her stunning needle-felted artwork. A truly eye-catching stand!

🥈 Second Prize Amanda Glanville
Coming in a very close second, Amanda created a beautiful display using doll’s house accessories to perfectly showcase her miniature glass art. Absolutely fantastic!

Well done, ladies! You both thoroughly deserved your awards, and we can’t wait to welcome you back next summer to see what you come up with next! ❤️

And just like that… it’s all gone, you wouldn’t even know we were there!

Leigh and I would just like to take a moment to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us over the weekend to celebrate our 5th anniversary and quite simply, to everyone who helps make these events possible.

The shows undoubtedly take a huge amount of time and effort to put together. In fact, a whole year of planning goes into each one, but we truly couldn’t do it without you all.

A huge thank you to each and every person who bought a ticket and came to visit us, we are truly grateful. Thank you for supporting these fantastic small businesses and for continuing to choose handmade 👏
We’ve already received so many lovely messages and emails, which are always so wonderful to read, It means so much to hear that you enjoyed your day with us.

Thank you to the owners and staff at Staunton Harold, another seem-less event. What a beautiful venue and the perfect setting for the show, we can’t wait to be back in November!

The real stars of the show are of course, the artisans themselves. They came and gave us all the most incredible display of beautiful handmade work and honestly, it really was superb! Without these talented makers, there simply wouldn’t be a show like this! We hope you all manage to get some well-deserved rest, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

The summer show may be over, but we will be returning for our Christmas celebrations very soon!
