Few voices linger in the soul like Cara Dillon’s. A towering figure in Irish music, she has earned global acclaim, including the Meteor Award for Best Irish Female and four BBC Folk Awards. For nearly 30 years, her voice—deceptively delicate yet emotionally devastating—has evoked something timeless and elemental. Performing alongside her on piano and guitar is her husband and collaborator, Sam Lakeman.

Alongside husband and collaborator Sam Lakeman, Dillon has created a timeless, distinctive sound. Their intimate live shows feature now-classic renditions of “Black Is the Colour” and "The Parting Glass," among many others.

From her early days in Óige and De Dannan, through the major-label corridors of Warners and Rough Trade, her music has travelled far beyond folk’s usual borders and continues to defy boundaries—from chart-topping remixes, Disney soundtracks, to the hit TV series Derry Girls.

STEM Venturi is coming to The Link Centre this September...

Ashbourne EngineerED Lab is a hands-on engineering experience where young people design, build, test and improve real projects while developing creativity, confidence and practical problem-solving skills.

This six-week lab explores the engineering behind one of the world's most iconic designs. Take a skateboard apart to discover how it works, then design your own miniature skateboard using CAD software and bring it to life with a 3D printer. Along the way, you'll investigate forces, materials and mechanics while thinking like a real engineer.

The Link Centre & Gateway Lodge have been developed for the benefit of people who live, work and visit Ashbourne.

It was the vision of Ashbourne Methodist Church, who wanted to find new ways to serve the local community. The vision was to create a new community hub, to be open 7-days-a-week offering a wide range of activities for the whole community.

The church is holding a Service of Dedication for The Link Centre & Gateway Lodge on Saturday 22nd August. Everyone is invited...

Everyone is invited to our Service of Dedication for The Link Centre & Gateway Lodge on Saturday 22nd August 2026.

Doors open at 2pm and the service starts at 2.30pm.

We are pleased that we will be joined by The Revd Mark Slaney & Caroline Stead, President & Vice President of the Methodist Conference.
