It’s hard working by yourself so I’m very happy that Tom has joined with me to help make Oh Happy Dahlias flower farm the best it can be. He’s in charge of the blue jobs. My body stops working when it shouldn’t on many occasions so sometimes he has to do pink jobs as well. His amazing wife Leanne has taught him very well - she’s an absolute legend!

In real life he’s an actual farmer on the farm and his and his father’s experience is invaluable. Dave was pretty good at his first work experience as a flower farmer too!

This season has been tough with the drought and it looks like another dry Autumn too. Many amendments to make for next year and I’m always searching for new dahlias.

Tom is leaving me next weekend (19th October) for an entire weekend away, so I’m in charge.

Like the child who organises a party on the first day their parents go on holiday, I’ve decided to host a PYO all by myself. Pure dahlia indulgence

After the worst drought in the 4 generations that have called Burstow Park Farm, Surrey home, we are opening our sunflower patch from this weekend. Come support your local farmers, it’s really been a tough one for us all here.

We have nearly two acres of sunflowers and an acre of grass picnic and hay bale play area. Come and play in the pathways that weave though the jungle of sunflowers and take some selfies, or nice pictures of your friends & family whilst enjoying some time amongst the flowers the bees and the sweet smelling fresh air (we’ll also have bunches of freshly picked dahlias and premium sunflower bunches too).

Open on selected days from 11am THIS SEPTEMBER Last entry 4.30pm.
