Alresford Fete Organising Group - AFOG Committee of local residents set up to organise events to bring together the local community of Alresford, Essex.

Good luck to all stall holders today!

Pamela Ridley Lynch will be popping round to collect donations from 12 o'clock, she will have the official AFOG money collection pot.

All donations go towards covering the cost of printing the maps and supporting the village children's Christmas event and the over 75s Christmas tea.

Hope everyone has a great day! Thank you all for taking part and making Alresford a wonderful community focused village. Without your donations, from events such as this, and volunteers the Alresford Fete Organising Group - AFOG simply couldn't continue. That would mean no more: Picnic in the Park, over 75s Christmas Tea, Free Children's Father Christmas Event, Alresford Sale Trail, Alresford Bake Off and Observational Treasure Hunt. All of the funds raised from events go back to the village to cover costs and put on these events. We also give money in the form of grants each year to local village groups and organisations for their work to continue.

Todays the day! Very excited for the Alresford SALE Trail arranged on our behalf by Nichola Suzanne Livesey, who has worked incredibly hard to co-ordinate.

A donation box for us, the Alresford Fete Organising Group - AFOG, will be going from stall to stall to help cover the costs of printing.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to Picnic in the Park today and helped make it such a wonderful community event.

A very special thank you goes to all of our volunteers. Events like this simply couldn't happen without the time, energy and enthusiasm of people willing to help before, during and after the event.

If you've enjoyed today and fancy getting involved, we'd love a few more helping hands. We promise we're a lovely bunch, and volunteering doesn't take up much time – but it makes a huge difference to our community.

🌳🎉 TOMORROW'S THE DAY! PICNIC IN THE PARK RETURNS TO ALRESFORD! 🎉🌳

Join us tomorrow for an afternoon of live music, dance performances, family entertainment, community stalls, delicious food and plenty of activities for all ages.

📅 Saturday 13th June
⏰ 12:00pm – 4:00pm
📍 Alresford Playing Field, Ford Lane, CO7 8AT

Plan of the Day:

12:00pm – Official opening by Alresford Parish Council Chairman, Frank Belgrove, followed immediately by live music from Silence The Sirens 🎶

1:00pm – Performance from Rebecca's Dance Academy 👯‍♀️

1:30pm – Silence The Sirens return to the stage 🎶

2:30pm – Short break 🍔🍻

3:00pm – Silence The Sirens return for the final set of the day 🎶

4:00pm – Event closes

☕🍰 In the Village Hall you'll find refreshments including tea, coffee, water, juice and a selection of generously donated homemade cakes. A chance to sit inside whislt you admire some beautiful calligraphy from the Alresford Calligraphy Club.

There really is something for everyone!

☀️ The forecast is looking promising, so bring a picnic blanket, gather your family and friends, and settle in for a lovely afternoon in the heart of our community. (And don't forget the sun cream!)

🚫 Sorry, no dogs and glass bottles/containers are not permitted on the playing field

💸 Many of the stalls will only be accepting cash, so please plan ahead.

✈️ And if we're very lucky, we may even catch a glimpse of the Red Arrows passing overhead during the afternoon!

🚗 This is a local village event and we highly recommend walking where possible. If you do need to drive, please respect our neighbours and park considerately.

⏰ One week to go until this year’s Observational Treasure Hunt!

After hearing what people enjoyed most last year, we’ve refreshed the trail for 2026 with a mix of literal clues, lateral thinking and “say what you see” questions to make it fun for all ages.

It’s a relaxed, family-friendly walking treasure hunt around the village.
