For those who are coming to our lunch tomorrow, please remember there are 4 way traffic lights at the roundabout so you might need to leave an extra 5 minutes early. You have to come the wrong way around the roundabout to get into our drive which does seem strange!

Open as usual despite the traffic control at Broomhouse roundabout. If you are coming from Alnwick, it will be easier to come up Smiley lane. Lots of summer annuals now ready.

We had another fully booked lunch last friday, the whipped goats cheese salad is staying on the menu for now as it has been so popular.

The next two dates for Friday lunches are:

We only got 3 pictures from our first lunch on Friday as it got bit busy in the kitchen plus the electric decided to cut out a few times! But overall it went great. The majority of our lunches will be Fridays with odd changes here and there will be some later afternoon/evening options.

Our next Afternoon tea is this Saturday 2nd May, we have two tables left if anyone is interested. Its £28.95pp. It'll be a few months until the next one.

Our first lunch date is this Friday 24th April, we'll be open between 12pm and 2.30pm ish. Tables are to be booked which can be done via text or email: [email protected]

We're starting small for our first one while people get used to us opening one day here and there for just set lunches. Please remember we aren't a tea room anymore so there won't be cakes etc, just our set lunch menu.

We hope everyones had a lovely Easter 🐣 so far. Our Spring afternoon tea went down well yesterday with everyone starting the tea with a glass of homemade cherry and elderflower fizz.

Our next Afternoon tea will be the early May bank holiday: Saturday 2nd May. The menu will be going on the website within the next 2 weeks and bookings are to be made via email: [email protected]

We'll be sorting a date for our first lunch soon and the dates will go on the website, so keep an eye on there.
The past few months, Rosie has been making alot of celebration fruit cakes, especially in the larger 10inch size . These need 6 weeks notice due to fruit soaking and time to feed.
You are welcome to get in touch with requests for orders and Rosie will see what she can do as she is only doing a couple days a week making food.

Update: Now FULLY booked

Our first Afternoon Tea of the year will be our Spring one on Easter weekend Saturday 4th April.

We've had the details on the website for a couple days and only have space for 4 - 6 more people.
The menu and details are all on our website if anyone is interested.

We'll get other Afternoon dates on the website shortly along with any other events.

While the Tea Room is officially closed, we've kept the business going in the background. We are still doing the odd food related event once or twice a fortnight as Rosie wants to keep food up while doing her other job. Keep an eye on the website for any events we might host.
Thank you again for everyone that came to see us when we closed and we hope everyone is keeping well.

While our Tea Room closed in December 2025 after 12years, we haven't stopped food altogether.
We are offering quarterly afternoon teas, fortnightly Friday lunches plus outside catering. Details on our website.

After 12 years, on Friday 19th December, we closed our tea room. While the Tea Room is finished, it is not the end for us. Check our website for any events or Afternoon Teas we have.

Rosie is still doing outside catering and we plan to continue with afternoon teas with other ideas in the pipeline.

The tea room will be kept as it is for now and will be available to hire for private parties/groups (with a minimum group number of 15 or a hire charge for less) and we will cater for you.

We are deeply grateful to every single customer and friend who has been a part of our journey over the last 12 years. Together you have made the tea room what it is - a place for people to relax, enjoy good food, and meet old and new friends.

Back open for the next few weeks before Christmas.
Just some of the treats on offer this week from salted caramel & chocolate tarts, turkish delight tiffin or festive chicken toastie with dipping gravy. The Fruit cake squares are a light fruit cake which is different from our traditional dark rum Christmas cakes.

We do have a few spare of our dark rum Christmas cakes that will be on sale in the tea room. These are all fully iced with marzipan and fondant either 5" square or 6" round (£37) and 1 x 7" square (£50).

Our two nutcrackers are also on sale, we've had them a couple years but never had them out on display for some reason.
