🤩 Spectacular Springbank & Hazelburn tasting session last night with the usual suspects & .

✨Line up included:

Hazelburn 10 46% abv (b. 2021)
Springbank 10 46% abv (b. 2021)
Springbank 15 46% abv (b. 2022)
Hazelburn 6 FB Cage 56.5% abv (d. 2017/b. 2023)
Hazelburn 15 Oloroso 55.8% abv (b. 2023 )
Springbank 9 FS Cage 59.1% abv (d. 2013/b. 2023)

🏆 Unanimous winner (best of a very good bunch) was the Hazelburn 6 YO cage bottling 💥 – spectacular dram full of tropical oily goodness, citrus and a wee bit of funk, with practically no burn. Special points to the SB 15 which brought bucketloads of that Campbeltown Funk 💨 we all love to the table!

🙋‍♂️ Which is your favourite from the bunch?

Luckily, my next Springbank tasting will be at Springbank when it’s back to school 🧑‍🎓💃🏻

🥃 The best whisky tasting experiences don’t even feel like tastings at all.

The Water of Life – Uisge Beatha – rewards patience.
It opens up when shared, discussed, and placed in context.

🥃 Each dram carries a story: of place, of time, of craft.

This philosophy shapes the tastings I host – whether around a dining table at home, or for groups looking to experience whisky beyond the label. 📖

If you’re curious, feel free to get in touch. Further details via DM 📩

🎉 Welcome, 2026! Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, as they say. I’ve been a little quiet on the posting front, but I’m aiming to get back into the rhythm this year – a bit like going back to school 😉

🎨 What better way to kick things off than with a colourful menagerie of Springbanks. Last year I was lucky enough to complete my core collection, including the coveted 30 YO. Tasting the Springbank 21 YO (2021) remains, to this day, one of my whisky highlights.

🌾 With a Campbeltown trip planned later this year, I’m very much looking forward to revisiting this amazing distillery, while discovering a few more drams along the way.

🤩 So, what whiskies are you most looking forward to drinking in 2026?

🤩 🌾 A whisky tasting is always great and this time we were super excited to be joined by .kilchoman – all the way from Islay – for a superb six-dram showcase at .store in Lisbon 🇵🇹.

🥃 Lineup: 🌾 100% Islay 14th edition; 🌊 Machir Bay; 🖤 Loch Gorm 10 YO 2025; 💙 13 YO Ltd. Ed. 2025; 🍯 Sauternes Cask 2024; 🍷 Port Cask 2024

🥮 The Port Cask edition went down a storm with the proud locals and even made it into the syrup topping of a homemade whisky cake baked by to finish off a great night! 🚨 Follow for more tastings & masterclasses👌
