I came across this photo from when I was serving as a missionary years ago in Portland Oregon, and it got me thinking.

Most people who know me now know me through Polly’s Pantry, weddings and grazing tables, but I had a very different upbringing before all of that. I grew up in Scotland’s biggest family, and at one point the BBC even came and filmed us because people were so curious about our life.

We were also raised Mormon, which was a huge part of how I saw the world when I was younger.

Looking back now it feels like a completely different chapter of my life, and lately I’ve been wondering about talking a bit more openly about it.

I’ve been thinking about starting a podcast and sharing some of those stories, the unusual parts of growing up the way we did, and where life has taken me since.

Not in the elf suit this year… and honestly, I don’t miss the tights!

Instead of the grotto, I’m spending more time with my own kids and pouring everything into Christmas Eve grazing platters. Next week is shaping up to be a very busy one and I can’t wait to get the Christmas music on high while I work!

If you’re looking for a venue, I highly recommend tullibole castle! Absolutely gorgeous place to get married. When the sun goes down and the outside lights go on, there is really nothing more incredible!
