Living the last few moments of a wedding, the very last 10 pictures of the night just before the lights go up and just after the lights have gone up. You won't get these sorts of memories with most wedding photographers because they'll have buggered off not long after your first dance finished hours ago.

Bride and groom pre wedding while a father feeds his baby. There are hundreds and hundreds of moments scattered throughout a wedding day, the difference between a good photographer and a meh one is the patience to wait for them, the experience to be there in the first place, and the capability to photograph them without disturbing the purity. Don't book an average wedding photographer, they'll make a real dogs dinner of your day.

I photograph a lot of weddings in Liverpool, Scousers love mercilessly taking the mick out of me when they realise I'm from Manchester. I don't mind because when people spill drinks all over themselves I can take pictures while laughing my ass off and no amount of "Don't take a picture of this" is stopping me.

I'm using these pictures from the weekend as an example to couples when looking for a wedding photographer.
You see, around 80% of wedding photographers talk a good game on socials and their website, arguably they are better at marketing and selling themselves than they are at taking pictures (of a consistently high standard throughout a wedding day). Sure they get lucky and have a few good pics to show on a blog from a FULL DAY of shooting, but that's usually less than a 2% success rate, meaning 98% of your wedding pictures are meh or really bad (the pictures they don't show on their socials or blogs).... imagine the disappointment you feel when you're going through your wedding gallery and you realise the quality is not the same - that's the difference between a bloody good photographer and a bloody good marketer.
These pictures are from my daughter's dance competition on Sunday, all taken at the same time, same place, same lighting, same everything - the only difference is who took them....think about that while you're deciding who to trust with your wedding pictures. Don't book a marketer instead of a photographer, you won't get to reshoot your wedding day.

Moments in the middle of the evening madness. I love seeing this ritual from couples who are really into each other, in the middle of the dance floor when everyone is going mental they create a bubble of their own.

Wedding was shot 99% on a Fujifilm x70 point and shoot camera that's the same size as a mobile phone - much better than two big daft cameras sticking out like a sore thumb, especially for low key documentary photography.
