What a weekend, here’s what I’ve been busy freelancing on recently, the 2026 installations for Chelsea in Bloom at and . This is a true highlight of my freelancing year and my third year of working with Emma on Chelsea in Bloom. The theme for Chelsea in Bloom this year is Out of This World, so we’ve gone Stairway to Heaven at 11 Cadogan Gardens and Artemis - Guardian of the Wild at the Chelsea Townhouse.
We’ve worked for over a month back at the workshop on the clouds, mushrooms and moon. Lots of hours and lots of pairs of hands. So much planning and experimenting to reach the final outcome. Emma from Arcade Flowers has been an absolute star, a powerhouse of a woman who has brought together all the ideas and us freelancers. Ten of us went up on the day to install the designs, setting off at 6am and returning home after 9pm. It’s hard work but wow, we have certainly created some magic.
We’ve been awarded two silver medals and the people’s vote is still open until Thursday. I’m currently on my way up to meet friends and take a walk around both the Chelsea in Bloom and Belgravia in Bloom displays so I’ll share more photos in the coming days.
