It's the fantastic Sonya Mathews!
Sonya is an immigrant, middle school teacher, and stand-up comedian,
which is just three different ways of saying “underpaid emotional
hostage.” Comedy was never the plan, but after living between Russia,
the USA, and the UK, it became less of a hobby and more of a survival
mechanism. They have spent years explaining American optimism to
Russians, British sarcasm to Americans, and basic human empathy to
twelve-year-olds. Expect sharp jokes about current affairs, cultural
confusion, and the haunted confidence of someone who has been
incorrectly corrected by both immigration officers and children.
