What. A. Night. 🤩

Saturday night took me back to Somerville College for another **Formal Hall** — and what an epic one it was!

Somerville is one of my regular haunts, and I absolutely love these nights. There’s something pretty special about having alumni from so many different years all back in the same room… and then watching the dancefloor prove that age really is just a number! 🕺💃

But there was an extra-special moment for me this time around.

Amongst the crowd were **Holly & Luke**, whose wedding I DJ’d right here at Somerville back in **2013**! Thirteen years later, we found ourselves back in the same place — only this time catching up rather than celebrating their wedding. ❤️

That’s one of the things I love most about this job. It’s not just about playing music for a few hours and packing the van away. Sometimes you become part of people’s stories… and occasionally those stories come full circle.

From Formal Hall to full-on dancefloor chaos — **Somerville, you smashed it.** 🔥

Same place. Different generation. Same Crossfade energy.

📸 I’m a DJ. Not a content creator.

I’m much more interested in what’s happening in front of the DJ booth than what’s happening behind my camera.

The packed dancefloor.
The ridiculous singalong.
The song that brings everyone together.
The moment when a room full of people completely lets go.

That’s what I’m passionate about.

I’ve never been particularly interested in spending half the night filming myself looking busy behind the decks. I’d rather be watching the dancefloor, reading the room and getting the next song right.

But every now and then I do remember to take a few photos — usually slightly wonky, occasionally blurry, and almost certainly not Instagram-perfect! 😂

Better late than never! 😊

Looking back to Chloe & Callum's beautiful wedding at De Vere Tortworth Court De Vere Tortworth Court back in May. The Orangery has to be one of the most breathtaking reception spaces in the South West – flooded with natural light by day and absolutely magical once the evening celebrations begin.

It was such a pleasure helping everyone celebrate, from the first dance through to a packed dance floor at the end of the night. There's nothing better than seeing guests of all ages enjoying themselves together.

A huge congratulations again to Chloe & Callum, and thank you for choosing Crossfade Disco to be part of such a special day. Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness! ❤️

I had the pleasure of DJ-ing alongside The
Small claim to fame;

Wurzels at an Oxfordshire young farmer's event in a massive cattle shed back in the summer of 2003. What a gig that was!

It was on the 12th of June in the summer of 1976 that we got to No.1 in the charts aboard The Combine Harvester! And who would have thought that 50 years on we would still be going, and still making people dance, sing and laugh!😁

We just had the pleasure of travelling down to Kentisbeare, to the farm where we recorded the original video used to promote Combine Harvester. We spent the afternoon with the wonderful Andy Bennett, filming a special piece for BBC Points West.😉
It gave us a chance to reflect, and today is the perfect day to say 'Thank You' to everybody who helped to make it all happen. We are truly grateful, as topping the charts is an achievement to be proud of, and we couldn't have done it without your support, Ooh Arr-Ooh Arr!😀🍏🍻
