Today marks seven years since we got married. 🤍

As someone who spends most weekends surrounded by weddings, I probably should say your wedding day will be the best day of your life.

But seven years later… I’d say something different.

If you’re lucky, your wedding day won’t even make your top ten.

Because the best parts come afterwards.

🤍 You won’t always feel in love.
Love isn’t something you find once. It’s a choice you keep making, especially on the ordinary days.

🤍 Being right is overrated.
Very few arguments are worth “winning”. Protecting your relationship is far more important than proving a point.

🤍 Marriage isn’t 50/50.
Some days it’s 90/10. Some days it’s 10/90. The strongest couples step in when the other simply can’t.

🤍 Your spouse won’t always be your favourite person.
Life gets messy. Stress happens. That’s normal. Commitment carries you through the days when feelings alone don’t.

🤍 Compatibility matters less than commitment.
The happiest couples aren’t perfectly matched—they just keep choosing each other, again and again.

🤍 There will be seasons where you feel like strangers.
Children, careers, grief, illness, joy… life changes you both. Give each other enough grace to grow back together.

🤍 The wedding is only the beginning.
The Tuesday evenings. The family dinners. The holidays. The inside jokes. Watching each other become parents. Growing older side by side. That’s where the real magic is.

Creating flowers for weddings will always be one of the greatest privileges, because I get to witness the beginning of so many beautiful stories.

But today, I’m celebrating what comes after.

Happy anniversary to us. Here’s to the next chapter. 🤍

There will probably be a moment when you question whether it’s worth it.

Whether flowers are just another expense.
Whether you should keep things simple.
Whether anyone will even notice.

Then you arrive.

You see your church dressed exactly as you imagined. Your guests stop as they walk in. Your photographer captures the moments before anyone has even taken their seat.

Because flowers aren’t just decoration.

They’re the first chapter of your wedding day. They set the tone before a single word is spoken.

So if you’ve always dreamed of arriving to a beautifully dressed church… don’t convince yourself you have to let that dream go.

After all… if it makes you happy, it can’t be that bad. 🤍

If I were planning a wedding in 2027, these are the things I’d happily spend a little more on.

Not because they’re the most expensive, but because they’re the details people genuinely notice.

Patterned linens instantly make a tablescape feel considered and luxurious.

Amazing food keeps guests talking long after the wedding is over.

Statement flowers create those moments where everyone walks into the room and says, “Wow.” You don’t need flowers everywhere—just one or two incredible focal points.

Candlelight transforms a room. As soon as the sun goes down, it creates an atmosphere that nothing else can replicate.

And finally, photography and videography. Your wedding day flies by, but your memories don’t have to.

If you’re deciding where to invest your budget, I’d start here every single time.

Save this for your wedding planning folder and send it to someone who’s just started planning.

A little advice for anyone who’s a bridesmaid this year…

Be the friend who takes the photos nobody thinks to take. Not for Instagram—the blurry videos, her mum helping with her dress, everyone laughing on the bed, the little moments she’ll want to relive years from now.

Protect the mood. If the conversation starts turning into timings, logistics or little problems, change it. Turn the music up, pour another glass, get everyone dancing. The atmosphere is part of the memory.

Tell her more than how beautiful she looks. Tell her how happy she seems. How excited everyone is to see her. How loved she is. That’s the feeling she’ll carry with her all the way down the aisle.

And every now and then, remind everyone to put their phones down and simply be there. Some moments are better lived than filmed.

Send this to the bridesmaids you’ll have with you on the morning, so you don’t have to think about any of this when the day comes—you can just enjoy every second. 🤍

If your wedding reception looks like this… you’ve already won.

The curve.
The candlelight.
The flowers weaving through every turn.

Proof that you don’t need more décor—you need better table design.

Serpentine tables create impact before a single guest even sits down.

Most people think they’re booking someone to provide flowers.

They’re not.

You’re booking someone to shape the atmosphere of one of the most important days of your life.

A great florist thinks about how your ceremony will feel, where your guests’ eyes will be drawn, how the room changes throughout the day, and how every floral detail works together to tell your story.

The flowers are beautiful—but they’re only one part of the experience.

Save this before choosing your wedding florist, and follow for honest advice on planning a wedding that feels as incredible as it looks.
