We received some sad news the other day that one of our previous members of staff, Maddie passed away after a short illness. Maddie worked at Doorsteps from 2019 to 2023 and was very popular on her Bridge of Don/Altens run. Always full of warmth and with a big smile on her face. You will be sadly missed “Chuck” x

We have recently recruited Noel Smuk from E Salt to advise us on saving money through different fuels to run our fleet of vans. E Salt are world leaders in alternative fuels derived from salt and believe they can replace fossil fuels in the near future. Noel said “Doorsteps make the best sandwiches ever, like ever and we want to help them cos we can, hehe”.

We gave Noel until the end of March to complete our modifications to our vehicles so that we can celebrate with April Fuels!

Due to the spiralling cost of our weekly fuel bill, we have unfortunately decided to pause our “Free-food Friday” promotion. The EXTRA £200 a week we are spending keeping our vans on the road means we can’t afford to run this at the moment. Hopefully when “normality” resumes, we can start again.

As tomorrow marks my 20th anniversary at Doorsteps, I’ve been pondering some numbers we have accumulated in that time…

7305 days, lasted.
141 staff members, employed.
2 million+ sandwiches, made.
2.5 million delivery miles, covered.
£19.5 million turnover, achieved.
1 global pandemic, survived.
20,000 items to homeless, donated.
1 million+ butteries, sold.
Countless customers, served.
Far too many 3am’s, seen!!

But you know what? It’s flown past!
Doubt I will manage another 20 years but a massive thank you to everyone who ever worked for me or bought a Doorsteps product. Wouldn’t have managed 20 days never mind 20 years without you!
