Not quite Weird News, but an interesting little look into the inner workings of a soulless PR agency:
Tarja Virmakari, the PR for both staunchly anti AI band, The Rock Alchemist and open AI user, Andrzej Citowicz, has recently shared with me an interview with Rock Alchemist guitarist, Beppe Geracitano entitled "Composing Music with AI: Creative Help or Replacing the Artist?"
Some key points that Geracitano make, include:
1. AI applied to music composition doesn’t amplify creativity: it replaces it, and it does so in its own way.
2. That music loses the joy you get when you choose AI to compose it.
3. Artists that don't use AI, put their blood, sweat, tears, and money into producing an album- something that is completely avoided when artists use AI.
Ultimately signing off with:
Deep down, I want to believe that human art, if it has that right “magic” that only art itself can give, will always somehow manage to touch people’s souls. The world is also made of things we can’t always explain, and that we’re still not able to calculate. Human beings will always, in some way, be able to make the difference.

Meanwhile, Andrzej claims that his newest album, was made:
1. Not as a plan. Not as a strategy. Some things arrive on the right day without asking permission.
He claims that this album, Acoustism was born of old lyrics that he rediscovered, and yet every track I have been sent is stamped with "made with suno; created=2026-07-09T16:05:11.876Z; id=d919ec26-76a5-4085-9c57-4df02c9523fa"
Suno is an AI music generator, that offers free, and premium tiers and allows anyone to create full songs, lyrics included from a few lines of text as simple as a description of the feel of the song you want to hear.
While I take zero issue myself with the use of AI in song creation, I do ask that creators are upfront about it. Something I have expressed to both Andrzej and Tarja before. It's not the use of AI that I take issue with, it is the lying to listeners and being made to take part in the dishonesty by obfuscation of the truth. I am also not a huge fan of hypocrisy. Which I see as a lie that you ask others to engage with - but aren't willing to yourself.
I will not be manipulated on any level, whether to lie, or to be forced to swallow the bu****it Tarja spins. She is, after all, willing to take money to sell both sides of the argument.
As such, I will no longer be playing ANYTHING from her artists and will not be running news stories from her.
