We offer a welcoming, versatile and well-equipped performance space for theatre companies, touring productions, performers, community groups, schools, promoters and event organisers.
With a 281-seat auditorium, flexible stage configuration, excellent audience sightlines, generous backstage facilities and practical scenery access, Cwmaman Theatre provides an ideal setting for productions of all sizes.

A Comfortable 281-Seat Auditorium
Our two-tier auditorium seats 281 people, including two dedicated wheelchair spaces.
Audiences benefit from comfortable seating and unrestricted views of the stage from all areas of the auditorium, creating an excellent experience for both performers and audiences.
The auditorium is accessed via our first-floor foyer, with access by stairs or lift.
Accessible Facilities
We aim to make the theatre welcoming and accessible to everyone.
Facilities include:
Lift access to the first-floor foyer
Two wheelchair spaces located at the front of the stalls
Induction loop system
Easy access to the auditorium
Flexible Stage & Performance Space
The stage can be adapted to suit the needs of your production.
Main Stage
8.5m wide × up to 9m deep
This includes:
Approximately 1m apron staging
Adjustable back c*c
Back c*c height of approximately 5m
The back c*c can be removed when required, providing a total stage depth of approximately 10m from the apron to the rear wall.
Apron Stage
12.5m wide × 1m deep
The apron can be removed or adjusted to accommodate different production requirements.
Backstage
The backstage area is approximately:
12.5m wide × 3m deep, depending on the stage configuration.
Excellent Scenery & Prop Access
Getting sets, scenery and props into the theatre is straightforward.
Backstage has three access points, including:
Access to the dressing rooms
Access to the front-of-house gallery area
Direct external access for loading and unloading scenery and props
The external loading access has a standard double door, providing direct access from the loading area.
There is also a separate fire door providing side access and serving as a stage-door entrance to the dressing-room area.
So whether you're bringing scenery, props or production equipment, there are no unnecessary obstacles to getting your show onto the stage.
Lighting & Scenery Access
A gantry area runs either side of the stage, providing access to the counterweight system for lighting and scenery.
This allows convenient access for lighting and scenery changes and makes it easier for production teams to install and manage their equipment.
Dressing Rooms & Rehearsal Space
The theatre has:
Two large dressing rooms
One smaller dressing room
A large multipurpose room suitable for accommodating larger companies
The multipurpose room can also be used as a rehearsal space, giving companies additional flexibility during their hire.
Front of House Facilities
The theatre includes a spacious foyer with:
Box office
Kiosk
Audience waiting area
Lift access to the auditorium
