"As I don’t speak French, this was an absolutely massive help and took away so much stress."

When Donna and Wes decided to bring all their loved ones over from the UK for a grand destination wedding in France, they had a vision, a wonderful eye for detail, and... a lot of questions about local suppliers!

Planning a wedding abroad shouldn't feel like deciphering a foreign code. As a destination wedding planner, my job goes far beyond timelines and logistics. It’s about being your voice on the ground, translating your wishes, and speaking fluent French with every caterer, florist, and venue manager so you don’t have to worry about a single word.

So, if you are planning your wedding from abroad, and especially if you don't speak French, my absolute best advice is to hire a wedding planner or at least a coordinator!

Hearing Donna say that having someone to handle the language barrier took away her stress means the absolute world to me.

Are you planning your wedding from the UK or abroad? How do you feel about coordinating with local suppliers in French? Let’s chat in the comments! 👇

If Cinderella had been invited to a ball that follows the British rhythm, she would have enjoyed the dinner and the dance party before leaving at midnight.
But in France? She would have barely finished her cake and stepped onto the dance floor before already having to leave! What a frustration!

Jokes aside, one of the biggest cultural difference for international couples planning a destination wedding in France is the timeline.

While British weddings often kick off early in the afternoon and wrap up by midnight, French weddings operate on a completely different rhythm!

Here, everything starts a little later, breathes a little deeper... and lasts much, much later that night... Or rather, much earlier the next morning! We love taking our time over a sun-drenched cocktail hour, lingering around the dinner tables, and dancing under the stars until the early morning light.

It is an "art de vivre", and it changes everything about how you experience your big day.

Are you team "early celebration" or ready to dance until dawn? Let me know in the comments! 👇

If I were getting married today... I think I'd be facing a massive puzzle!

After 10 years as a wedding planner, I have seen so many breathtaking châteaux in Occitanie, stunning scenographies, poetic rituals, and incredible vendors ... that I would want absolutely everything!

However, if I were getting married today, I would ask myself the very same question I ask every couple I work with: What is truly important to you?

Let's erase everything you have seen on Instagram or Pinterest, and refocus entirely on who you are. Because no, not everyone has the same priorities. For some, it is spending hours around a table, enjoying exceptional food and fine wine. For others, it is dancing as early as possible and until dawn. And for others still, it is truly bringing all their different worlds together so that everyone connects for this unique day.

My role as an expert is precisely to help you sort through this whirlwind of desires, protect your peace of mind, and design a wedding that is 100% aligned with who you are.

Ready to create your own unique celebration?

Planning a destination wedding shouldn't feel like a second full-time job. 🤍

We all know how it starts. You get engaged, you are swimming in excitement, pinning aesthetic boards on Pinterest, and eagerly contacting your favorite venues and vendors in France.

At the beginning, it’s pure joy.

And then... little by little, the reality of planning from thousands of miles away sets in. You have contracts to review in a language and legal system you might not fully know, suppliers asking questions you don't have answers to, and a growing to-do list that starts keeping you up at night.

This is why my coordination service doesn't start 48 hours before the wedding.

When we work together, sometimes a full year in advance, you aren't just hiring someone to show up on the wedding day. You are hiring a safety net. You send me your contracts as you sign them. When a doubt or a problem pops up, I am right here to solve it.

And the magic? As we move forward, month by month, the mental load shifts seamlessly from your shoulders to mine. You stop worrying about logistics and start dreaming again.

By the time your wedding day arrives, you aren't stressed or exhausted. You are relaxed, entirely confident, and ready to simply enjoy the best day of your life. 🥂

People often ask me what a wedding planner actually does on the big day. Well, apart from managing timelines, coordinating vendors, and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes... sometimes my job description expands quite unexpectedly!

Picture this: the photographer needs to test a specific lighting or a creative framing in a tricky venue spot, but the couple is busy getting ready. Who steps in? Me, striking a pose! 🙋‍♀️

It might sound anecdotal, but it actually happens quite regularly. A unique shadow, a historic room with tricky natural light, and suddenly I am your official test-model.

Admit it... you definitely didn’t think that was part of a wedding planner's checklist, did you?

Yes, I missed my couple's ceremony. And honestly? I would have loved to be there to witness it.

But that is simply not my role! And that is actually a very good thing.

I was there before it all began to make sure everything ran smoothly: ensuring every single guest was seated inside the church before the bride arrived, and orchestrating the timing so her entrance was truly unforgettable for everyone.

Once that magical moment happened and they walked down the aisle, I left. While they were sharing their vows, surrounded by their loved ones living the most emotional moments of the day, I was already racing ahead to the venue.

And while I missed the vows, I got to prepare what comes next. And what a next step it was! ✨

As you can see in these gorgeous photos captured by Nicolas Issaly, while I was setting up the reception space at , welcoming the local vendor team, and putting the final touches on everything, the ceremony itself was pure magic.

You get to experience every single emotion with your favorite people, and I make sure your entire day goes smoothly.

There is one quiet ritual on a wedding day that always feels a little bit like magic to me.

All your guests have arrived, the emotions are settling, and your ceremony, which was probably your biggest source of stress lately, is finally behind you. 🤍

Right now, you are in the middle of your cocktail hour. You are surrounded by your favorite people, savoring the local delicacies crafted by your caterer, discovering new flavors, and toasting with a well-deserved glass of French champagne. You did it. 🥂

While you are out there laughing and chatting, I am behind the scenes, preparing what comes next.

Walking through the glow of the dinner space, quietly lighting the candles one by one, I honestly get this feeling of being your fairy godmother with a magic wand. 🪄

Because lighting those candles means one thing: dinner is about to begin. In just a few moments, you are going to step into the room and discover everything you’ve dreamed of and prepared for months, finally alive, breathing, and filled with the people you love most. The hard work is done. Now, it’s simply time for you to sit down, take a deep breath, and finally enjoy the feast, the speeches, and the night ahead of you.

This is the exact magic of a destination wedding in the South of France: knowing that every single detail has been taken care of, so all you have to do is live it.

People often ask me what a typical wedding day looks like.
Well... it usually involves about 20,000 steps, speed-walking across castle grounds, carrying chairs, adjusting decor, and always with a smile!

Behind the calm, smiling face you see on the wedding day is a certified hybrid athlete: half project manager, half marathon runner.

Jokes aside, being everywhere at once to make sure everything runs smoothly is the invisible part of the job and I love it. When you plan a destination wedding from afar, you need someone on the ground with endless energy to tie all the loose ends together, so you don't have to lift a finger (or run a single step)! 🤍

Beautiful wedding of Donna ❤

Because frankly... this year, it is SO hot! 🔥

And managing weddings under these conditions? Honestly, it’s been complicated!

Of course, I am doing my absolute best, and so is every single vendor on my trusted local team. But we have truly never experienced heat like this for this long. We are drinking liters and liters, of water, of course, just to avoid drying up completely in the sun!

More than ever, I am deeply grateful for ancient châteaux with thick stone walls that keep the coolness in, and grand, leafy parks that offer genuine shade.

Every step of the way, my priority is making sure my couples and their guests have an absolute wonderful time, no matter what the thermometer says.

Although... on some of those scorching afternoons, I do catch myself thinking: Plan B could literally just be jumping into the pool with everyone, right?

What do you think?

Hi, I’m Delphine.
I am a wedding planner and officiant based in the beautiful French Southwest and the Toulouse region.

After years as an engineer, I found my true calling: creating soulful, serene, and deeply joyful wedding experiences for couples coming from abroad. My core values are simple: family, care, and openness to the world. 🌍

When you choose to work with me, you aren't just booking a venue: you are renting a historic estate that becomes, for the time of your celebration, your true family home. A place where you can settle in, gather your favorite people, and live a genuine "home away from home" experience.

I don’t just plan logistics; I take care of everyone involved, you, your loved ones, and my trusted team of local artisans, to ensure that on your big day, you can enjoy every single moment until the end of the night. (Even if I quietly slip away once you're all dancing your hearts out on the dance floor! 😉)

By the way... I told you about this staircase before! It’s the famous one carved into a single tree trunk at Château La Commanderie.
