For Olivia and Jonathan, Manoir de Vacheresses became the meeting point between Jonathan’s French family roots and the life the couple have built together in Boston.

For their May wedding, Olivia looked to Versailles for inspiration, but wanted a softer, more relaxed interpretation. The design centred around beautiful blue florals, bringing colour to the historic setting and giving the outdoor ceremony a real sense of grandeur.

Against the stone façade and green countryside, the result felt distinctly French without becoming overly traditional — elegant, romantic and still relaxed enough to feel like them.

Liana & Ruiji’s spring wedding at Château de Champlâtreux was built around the details of their own story.

Soft blue and lavender set the palette, while a bespoke Toile de Jouy was created with symbols from their life together — including subtle references to their cats. For the ceremony, a sculptural textile installation replaced the traditional floral arch, paired with airy florals and a cascading basket-style bridal bouquet.

The personal touches continued throughout the day: letters for their guests, custom Wingspan cards, a croquembouche and oversized berry tart, and even a “cat toss” in place of the traditional bouquet toss. After dinner in the château grounds, once the spring rain had cleared, fireworks!

NEW VENUE — Château de Bouchony, Provence
Château de Bouchony - Avignon

A new address for couples looking for a private château wedding in Provence.

Set on the Île de la Barthelasse, just outside Avignon, Château de Bouchony is an 18th-century Provençal estate surrounded by mature gardens and established trees. Despite the feeling of being tucked away in the countryside, Avignon TGV station is only 12 minutes away — making it particularly well placed for a destination wedding with guests travelling from abroad.

The château is hired exclusively for a minimum of three nights, giving couples the freedom to create an entire wedding weekend in one place: welcome drinks in the gardens, a ceremony outdoors or in the château’s private consecrated chapel, dinner in front of the château or beneath the sailcloth marquee, followed by a poolside brunch the next morning.

THE HIGHLIGHTS

— Exclusive use for three nights
— Weddings for up to 180 guests
— Accommodation for 20 guests
— 10 bedrooms across château rooms and private apartments
— Private consecrated chapel
— 280m² sailcloth marquee for dinner, dancing or a wet-weather plan

— Tennis court
— Mature Provençal gardens and lawns
— Multiple outdoor ceremony and reception settings
— Furniture and architectural lighting included
— External caterers permitted

Arnaud and Svetlana met in Switzerland ten years ago. For their wedding, their French, Russian and Swiss worlds came together at Mas de Florette for a celebration of around 80 guests.

Provence was a meaningful choice. Much of Arnaud’s family lives nearby, including his grandmother, whose presence was particularly important to the couple. From there, Lana brought her own vision to the setting: vibrant colour, generous blooming flowers and a day designed to feel joyful rather than restrained.

Their different traditions became part of the celebration too. During the preparations, Arnaud was put through a series of quizzes and challenges — including a test to determine whether he was officially “ready to marry a Russian woman.”

A wedding that felt distinctly theirs: French, Russian and Swiss, brought together under the Provençal sun.

Provence, in full light.

Rather than waiting for golden hour, this editorial at Château La Beaumetane leans into the intensity of the Provençal afternoon — clear blue skies, sharp shadows and the kind of sunlight that gives every image its character.

Against the château gates, sculptural arrangements of anthuriums, roses and trailing greens frame the ceremony, before the setting moves outdoors for a reception beneath crystal chandeliers. Vintage tableware, draped linens and Calissons d’Aix bring the details back to the South of France.

The bridal look takes a more fashion-led direction: a voluminous Lolette gown, embroidered cathedral veil worn with a Sicilian influence, softly curled hair and a red lip. Part of the series was also captured on Kodak Portra 400, bringing the greens, whites and bright Provençal light onto film.

Set at Domaine Le Mezo, this editorial takes the codes of classic French elegance and gives them a sharper, more contemporary point of view. Ivory draping moves in the Breton breeze, deep burgundy cuts through the palette, and sculptural anthuriums and calla lilies reference the shapes and textures of the coast.

A circular ceremony on the lawn gives way to an outdoor dinner around a serpentine table, layered with antique silver candelabras, crystal coupes and monogrammed details. Fashion follows the same direction: a custom Charlotte Do gown with satin opera gloves, a black-tie groom and an aubergine vintage MGB bringing a cinematic edge.

Then the mood shifts. Champagne towers, cake, live saxophone and direct flash photography take the editorial from polished afternoon elegance into a much looser, late-night celebration.

A wedding dinner inside the Carrières de Lumières in Les Baux-de-Provence — an experience very few people will ever have.

Guests dine within the vast limestone quarry as monumental projections move across the stone walls, transforming the setting throughout the evening.

The scale, the art, the location in the heart of the Alpilles — everything about it feels extraordinary. One of Provence’s most iconic spaces, experienced in a way that remains exceptionally rare.

Introducing CHATEAU de BEAULIEU
For couples imagining a wedding that feels intimate, immersive and entirely their own, Domaine Beaulieu (Château Beaulieu) offers something truly special in the countryside near Saint-Émilion. Across 12 private hectares, life moves between the house, the forest and the potager, around long tables, food cooked over fire and evenings spent outdoors.

A ceremony beneath the trees can lead to cocktails by the pond, followed by dinner around the long oak table between the potager and forest. The grounds are entirely private, there is time to settle in, gather slowly and enjoy a few days together.

There is a simplicity to life here that feels incredibly special — beautiful landscapes, good food, the people you love and the time to enjoy it all. It is this quiet connection to nature and to the simple pleasures of life that gives Domaine Beaulieu its magic.

THE HIGHLIGHTS
12 private hectares · 7 hectares of forest
One wedding at a time
Long-table dining in the kitchen garden
Wood-fire · brasero · asado cooking
Pool · pond · meadows · spa
On-site accommodation
Sheep · horses · life in the countryside
15 minutes from Saint-Émilion
