FLASH INFO !!!!
Two places at the Deaf STEM Camp have been vacated. We are looking for two new candidates working or studying in STEM fields to join us during the week from 5th August to 12th August, in Revel in the south of France (The city of Toulouse is the nearest transport hub).

Price : 390 € including accommodation, transport between Toulouse and Revel, meals and activities

Deux places au Camp d'été des scientfiiques sourds viennent d'être libérées. Nous sommes à la recherche des deux nouveaux candidat.e.s, étudiant ou travaillant dans les domaines scientifiques STIM pour être parmi nous pendant la semaine du 5 au 12 août, à Revel dans le Sud de France (Toulouse est la ville la plus proche des transports internationaux).

👨‍🔬The Czech Republic will be represented at the camp thanks to Vojtěch Kovařovic.
🧬His field of study is molecular biology and genetics.
On what theme will he enlighten us ?
Let's end the suspense ; discover it instead : "Comparative genomics of coagulase negative staphylococci".

✨A completely different area will be developed, with Staffan Hellström, coming from Sweden.
⚡️His research is concerned with the semiconductor, optoelectronics.
And his theme will entice you : "Photonic Integrated Circuits for high-speed fiberoptic communications".

👀Canada will be present, too, with Linda Campbell, making her own contribution.
On what theme, - with multiple implications -, will her conference focus ?
👩‍🎓"Working as a Deaf woman scientist in a hearing male-dominated setting while working with ASL-English interpreters who tend to be women and non-scientists."

Yudiana Yang from Sweden will detail her work titled "Bayesian calibration for Campylobacter risk assessment".
Her project is to develop teaching material for mathematics at upper secondary level in Swedish Sign Language. 🙌
