This morning, I had the pleasure of visiting the charming , located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris — and what a special discovery it was!

The property, acquired by Alfred Sommier (the same visionary behind the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, which inspired the iconic Palace of Versailles), is steeped in history. Yet what struck me most was its intimate spirit. Today, the hotel remains in the hands of the fifth generation of the family, preserving a truly authentic, discreet, and effortlessly Parisian atmosphere.

With its hidden gardens and understated elegance, it’s the kind of place that captivates through subtlety. Small in scale, yet perfect for exclusive celebrations — especially intimate weddings full of character.

A few details I loved: rooms 205 and 216 (one of them adorned in stunning gold tones), beautiful bathrooms, and refined amenities, including products by Guerlain.

It was one of those visits where you feel you’ve uncovered a true hidden gem in Paris.
