Tess and Will sought to capture the intimate ambiance of a classic Parisian bistro for their wedding dinner just outside of Bath in the English countryside.

The challenge? A relatively new event space with an open floorplan and soaring ceilings. Even so, these are some of the prettiest “bones” we’ve ever worked with for a ballroom!

The minty matte paint colors were evocative of Martin Brudnizki’s reimagining of Le Chardenoux in Paris, and this bistro turned out to be a source of endless inspiration for us.

As always, our designs for the room started with the furniture layout. To make the room feel smaller and cozier, we played into mixed table shapes and sizes that would effectively use up all the real estate in the room. Placing 4 banquettes in the center of the room drew the focus away from the walls, while measured pattern play and chair styles kept the eyes engaged. In approaching each design moment for an event day through an interior design lens, we aim to be conscious of how a space looks and feels, from every single vantage point.

decorated the tables with dainty English wildflowers that held their own with their bold poppy red, cornflower blue and daisy yellow colors, while cream-colored tapers added an element of soft romance with their flickering candlelight.

Handdrawn paperie from added a playful, yet sophisticated energy to the dressed up tables featuring scalloped plates from , mixed vintage glassware from and vintage silver shell table name holders we sourced from Etsy, Ebay and some friendly neighborhood antique shops! Said shells were inspired by the surreal shell grotto designed for one of the hallways at !

We wholeheartedly adored T&W’s wedding dinner design, and we cannot wait to start sharing more from this superbly chic day!
