Hello To You On This Fabulous Thursday!

It’s a very special day here at the Chateau…

Mr Strawbridge is 67 years young today! 🎂

We have been strictly instructed to treat today as a normal day, particularly as Arthur & Dorothy have only just started back at school.

Naturally, we are all choosing to completely ignore this! 😂

Dick & I are hoping to steal a rare quiet moment together with a birthday brunch in the Walled Garden, and then once Arthur & Dorothy are home, it’s pressies, cake and a proper family celebration to make sure he knows just how loved he is!

The most wonderful husband, daddy and grandad…and most definitely one of a kind!

Happy 67th Birthday, my gorgeous husband! We love you! ❤️

Pinch and a Punch!!! The 1st of the Month! ❤️

And what a summer to remember!

Part two of our adventures took us to Canada for a wonderful Strawbridge family gathering. There was lots of family time, lots of laughter and plenty of memories made.

Since arriving back home, we’ve been enjoying some lovely, quieter moments before the school year begins again.

For Arthur and Dorothy, that’s TOMORROW! And one of Dorothy’s absolute highlights is packing her new school bag with all her lovely fresh stationery! She LOVES it! ✏️

So today is all about squeezing every last drop out of the summer holidays before the alarm clocks are set and school bags are by the door!

To everyone starting school this week, we’re thinking of you and sending lots of love for a wonderful new school year! ❤️

Dolly 💔

Dolly has been part of the soundtrack to our family in so many ways.

Dolly’s gorgeous voice has filled this Chateau for years. I’ve sung “Here You Come Again” to Dorothy at bedtime more times than I could ever count, and our children pretty much know all the words to nearly every Dolly song!

If you’ve ever seen us on tour, you might remember Dick sharing his 60-second philosophy, his “big ball theory”: make a difference to one person in your life, and they’ll go on to make a difference to others.

Dolly did that on a scale that is almost impossible to imagine.

She touched the world with her music, but also with her humour, kindness, extraordinary generosity and endless charity. And she did it all with that unmistakable Dolly style and sparkle.

We never had the pleasure of meeting her, but we did have one of the best nights watching a show inspired by Dolly. Dorothy came home with a jumper that she has worn almost to destruction, with one of our favourite Dolly quotes on the back:

“It costs a lot of money to look this cheap.”

That was Dolly. Funny, fabulous, generous and completely herself.

What a woman. What a legacy. ❤️

RIP beautiful, kind, wonderful Dolly. 💔

Hello to you on this Wonderful Wednesday! ❤️

We can't believe it's been a whole week since the Chateau gave us the most amazing night of stargazing.

The solar eclipse came to our little corner of France and Dorothy, ever prepared, had her telescopic camera set up and ready to capture the wonder!

Thank goodness she did, because to the naked eye it looked rather more like a slightly ominous rain cloud 😉

Through Dorothy’s lens, though, we could see something truly extraordinary unfolding in the skies above the Chateau…

But the heavens weren’t quite finished with us…

Come darkness…2am to be exact (!)...the meteor shower began, with shooting stars darting across the night sky above the turrets…It was truly one of the most magical moments ever!

This month, our feet have barely touched the ground! From Suffolk to Scotland and The Game Fair, it’s been a whirlwind of family, friends, celebrations and adventures…with lots of very special memories made along the way.

We can hardly believe it's already been a month since the gorgeous Laura and Lee celebrated their LOVE here at the Chateau.

We're all still smiling as we look back on such a magical weekend, filled with so much laughter and happiness.

Hello to you on this Super Saturday!

School's officially out for summer...which means the Strawbridge Summer has officially begun! ☀️

Our first stop...The seaside! 🌊
It's become something of a family tradition to escape to the coast for a few days before the adventures really begin.

After the incredible heat we've had at the Chateau over the past few weeks, we're more than happy to swap soaring temperatures for sea breezes, sandy toes and the simple joy of being together.

Sometimes the very best summer days are the simplest. ❤️

Once we've had our seaside fix, we'll be heading back to the UK to catch up with our wonderful friends and family, spending time at the Game Fair, and then it's off to Canada for a very special family wedding.

It's shaping up to be a summer full of adventure, laughter and making memories...

Wherever this summer takes you, we hope it's filled with love, laughter and those wonderfully simple moments that often become the memories you'll treasure forever.
