Day two of Engage! Retreat started in the best possible way: with a sunrise Pilates session (my very first one!) overlooking the breathtaking Mediterranean Sea. A peaceful and energising start to the day.
We then moved into one of my favorite parts of the experience: meaningful conversations.
We were divided into smaller groups with different talk leaders, and I had the privilege of joining sessions with Matthew and Luis . The discussions were incredibly inspiring, centered around how we can work better together, understand one another, and become more aware of each team member’s needs.
It resonated deeply with me, because our industry simply cannot function without communication and empathy. I always try to put myself in everyone else’s shoes : does the caterer have everything needed for service? Is the layout practical? Is the timing right for speeches? …and is the doorway wide enough for the cake to pass through? (Poke Bastien Blanc 😅)
One quote I kept with me, shared by , was from a chef who once told him: “If you bring me a problem without a solution, perhaps you are part of the problem.”
And I fully agreed with him & Tamara who shared the same mindset: when an issue arises, there is no time to focus on blame, only on how to solve it, together, as a team.
We then all gathered for lunch in the stunning setting and joyful atmosphere of La Mome Riviera. A timeless moment, fun, new encounters, beautiful conversations…
And it was only gently introducing what was still to come later that day, in an even more magical setting…
