Nineteen ATS Catering staff successfully graduated after completing a intensive three-month APMT culinary training programme, marking another milestone in staff development and the continued strengthening of ATS’ operational capabilities.

The programme provided participants with valuable skills, knowledge, and practical industry exposure, supporting ATS’ commitment to investing in its people and maintaining excellence across its catering operations.

ATS Chief Executive Officer Alan Suchin congratulated the graduates on their achievement, acknowledging their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to professional growth.

He highlighted that the staff remain the organisation’s greatest strength, and that continued investment in training and development is essential to building capability, enhancing service standards, and preparing teams for the future. He encouraged the graduates to apply the knowledge and skills gained through the programme and continue contributing to the excellence that ATS is known for.

Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association Chief Executive Officer Fantasha Lockington also congratulated the graduates, highlighting the importance of professionalism, continuous development, and the critical role catering professionals play in supporting Fiji’s wider tourism and aviation industries.

Recently, our Manger Quality Assurance, Mr. William Halofaki represented ATS at the ICAO AVSEC Managers Course in Auckland, New Zealand.

The course, wasn’t just about lectures and manuals. It was a deep dive into the real challenges of keeping air travel safe. Over seven days, participants explored how to plan and implement airport security programmes, design contingency and crisis management plans, and understand the unique responsibilities of aviation security managers.

For Mr. Halofaki , the experience was more than technical training—it was about connecting with peers from different countries, sharing perspectives, and building a network of professionals united by a common mission: safeguarding aviation.

The sessions were practical, forward looking, and designed to prepare managers for the unexpected.

This morning, the ATS Team led by the Safety Assurance Department conducted a Foreign Object Debris Walk on the Airport ramp.

As key stakeholders operating on the apron, this initiative aims to reduce Foreign Object Debris on the apron and enhance the overall safety of aircraft operations.

All departments of ATS were represented in this initiative.

The ATS Engineering team was on the ground to handle the arrival of the Antonov An-124-100 , one of the world’s largest cargo aircraft.

It is a Ukrainian-designed strategic airlifter built by Antonov Company and is primarily used for oversized and ultra-heavy cargo that normal freight aircraft cannot carry.

This has been described as a “special aviation moment”.
