For a long time I’ve believed that every community in Fiji has a story worth telling. Not the stories we usually see on the news. But the stories of ordinary people like you and me.

The farmer who wakes before sunrise or the market vendor who works seven days a week. Even the young person with big dreams.

Sometimes it’s a grandmother preserving our traditions. It might also look like the small business owner trying to make ends meet.

The community quietly making a difference.

I’m starting a new storytelling platform across Vanua Levu and eventually all of Fiji called “Voices of Our People.”

As we take the next few steps towards laying the foundation for the Fijian Community Carnival-Voices of Our People there’s this huge excitement about what this means for the people of Vanua Levu.

A town that holds a special place in my heart and I will always be proud to call this Home!!

I’m excited to share that I am currently working on something that will be the first of its kind for Labasa and the North.

Fijian Community Carnival - Voices of the People
💫 Celebration with a Purpose

This initiative is being created to bring together:

✅ Villages
✅ Neighborhoods & Settlements
✅ Youth Groups
✅ Families
✅ Community Organizations
✅ Government & support services

All in one space to raise voices, share real stories, highlight challenges, and build solutions in a safe, positive, and uplifting environment.

Right now, I’m building the Organising Committee, and would love to invite passionate people to join us on this journey.
