Sport Diplomacy in Action.

I had a fruitful discussion with Mr. Feisel Aliyi Abrahim, Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Qatar, on areas of common interest.

During the meeting, we discussed various ways of using sports to build strong diplomatic and social relationships between Ethiopia and Qatar. One such method was to leverage the success of Ethiopian athletes to create a positive image of the country in Qatar. This approach involves showcasing Ethiopian athletes' achievements and promoting their participation in sport events in Qatar, which can lead to increased visibility and recognition for Ethiopia in the Middle East.

Another area of discussion was how to make legendary Ethiopian athletes more visible in the Qatari sports scene. This approach could involve organizing exhibitions or events that showcase the accomplishments of Ethiopian athletes, thereby raising awareness of their achievements and creating a platform for cultural exchange and dialogue.

By collaborating with the Ambassador and the Ethiopian community in Qatar, aims to foster closer ties between Ethiopia and Qatar and build a positive image of Ethiopia in the Qatari sports scene.
