Mediterranean Trail
Total distance about 160 km/100 miles
(For experienced riders)
This is a circular route crossing green fields, hills and mountains to the beaches of the Mediterranean passing through small medieval villages on the way. The accommodation is in comfortable farmhouses, cottages and hotels.
This route follows the river basins of the Ter and Fluvià which flow from the Pyrenees to the Mediterranean. During the tour we will travel through areas of extreme natural beauty, steeped in history and geography that allows us to enjoy varied riding: climbing and descending mountains, fording rivers, crossing tracks, meadows, roads and beaches.
Day 1 Airport pickup and reception at Can Garrigueta
Welcome all guests and the introduction of the Trail.
Day 2 Riding out from Terradelles to Monells
Monells is an ancient castle, with a medieval past, of nobles and knights, markets, castles and barons.
Day 3 Monells to L’Estartit
L’Estartit is just over a mile from the Medes Islands archipelago. To the back of the town is the Rock Maura peak rising to the Montgrí Massif. It is a town situated in an ideal environment, with a large sandy beach, and shallow waters .To the south is the mouth of the River Ter.
Day 4 From L’Estartit to San Marti d´Empurias
San Marti d´Empurias is a town on the Costa Brava where the important archaeological site of Ampurias is situated.
Day 5 From De San Marti to Siruana
Siruana is located between the rivers Muga and Fluvia, on flat terrain with small forests of oaks and birches.
Day 6 From Siruana to Vilademuls
Vilademuls is located in the eastern part of the Pla de l’Estany. As we ride we can see several Romanesque churches.
Day 7 Farewell and Departure at 10:00 am to Barcelona
7 days and 6 nights in double room with shower and bath, on 1-2 nights shower and bathroom may be shared . The supplement for a single room is 35 € per night, if available.
5 days riding: 5 days full board including table wine. Riders should be of at least intermediate level. Riding will be from 4-7 hours in the saddle every day; total distance about 160 km/100 miles

Barcelona/Girona – Garrigueta Trails
Barcelona airport at 17:30.
Barcelona City Centre: 18:00, Columbus statue (at the end of the “Rambla” at Port Vell)
Girona airport at 19:00
Girona Train & Bus Station at 19:30.
Garrigueta Trails – Barcelona/Girona
Departure is at 10:00 am arriving at Girona airport at 11:00 and Barcelona airport at 12:00.
