The floor is usually the last thing decided on a stand, and the first thing that causes a late change.
Walls are approved, graphics are in production, and then someone asks what goes underneath. By then the options have narrowed.
A simple way to avoid that is to put the floor in the stand brief from day one:
1. Choose the surface for each zone: carpet, tiles, vinyl or floor graphics.
2. Decide if you need a raised platform. It helps with cables and levels, but adds height, cost and build time.
3. Check the organizer's manual for platform height, ramp and edge rules.
4. Agree where power and data run and what the floor hides or shows.
5. Confirm what loads the floor must carry, from furniture to heavy products.
6. Decide who protects the floor during build-up.
7. Agree who removes it at the end, and where the waste goes.
Two surfaces in one stand can also help visitors read the layout without extra signs, for example harder flooring in the product area and carpet around the meeting table.
