🍷 SUNDAY CONFESSIONS OF A PRIVATE CHEF 🍷
Episode 1: Well, This Wasn't In The Diary
This week was supposed to be a proposal dinner.
Instead, it became an engagement dinner, eye surgery, a water outage, a logistical juggling act to source alternate accommodation and eventually, a glass of local dry white wine and a piece cheesecake overlooking the vineyards of Lanzarote.
Not quite what I had planned.

When we arrived at the villa and asked about timings, our client smiled and casually informed us that he'd already proposed the night before.
Apparently he'd found a more perfect moment.
Thankfully she said yes.
So instead of cooking a proposal dinner, I found myself cooking an engagement dinner.
A lovely reminder that sometimes the best moments aren't the ones we plan!
The following day brought a rather different surprise.
No water.
Guests arriving.
Phone calls being made.
Alternative arrangements being organised.
Meanwhile, Matt was preparing for his third round of laser eye surgery this year, proving that life rarely limits itself to one challenge at a time.
A long while later, I found myself back at home in our Lanzarote house on the edge of the wine-growing region, with a glass of wine in one hand and a piece of cheesecake in the other, wondering how the week had managed to change direction quite so quickly.
Life is funny like that.
Sometimes the plans we carefully make are replaced by something even better.
Sometimes things don't go quite as expected.
And sometimes the unexpected turns out to be exactly what we needed.
