Being an artist in 2026 is a strange experience.

Everyone sees the highlights.
The festivals.
The lineups.
The backstage photos.

Almost nobody sees the hundreds of hours spent alone.

Writing music.
Deleting ideas.
Starting over.
Learning.
Failing.
Questioning yourself.

People often think DJing is all about traveling and playing shows.

The truth?

Before you ever stand on a big stage, you have to survive years of being a nobody.

When you’re unknown, you’re treated like you’re unknown.
The fees are small.
The opportunities are limited.
You have to prove yourself over and over again.

And something interesting happens…

When your name finally starts appearing on bigger lineups, suddenly people notice you.
Some old friends remember you exist.
People who never supported you before suddenly become your biggest fans.

Ironically, the people who support me the most today are often complete strangers.

Meanwhile, I genuinely try to support other artists.
I listen to their music.
I leave comments.
I share their work.
I play tracks from DJs I believe in during my own sets.

Not because I expect something in return.
But because I know how much a little support can mean when you’re building something from nothing.

Maybe my mistake has been expecting the same energy back.

So here’s a question…

Do you think artists should support each other more?

Or is this just the reality of the industry?
