Through Gods Own Eyes is the other record label I run alongside NuNorthern Soul and one that some of you might not be quite as familiar with.

I started TGOE back in 2019 as another outlet for music I liked that didn't necessarily have a home on NuNorthern Soul.

It's definitely the more dancefloor-focused of the two labels, with House music in many of its various forms at the heart of things, but I've never been that interested in tying it down to one particular sound.

Deep, dubby, psychedelic, cosmic, disco, techno, chug... there's a bit of all of that in there, and quite a lot that sits somewhere in between.

I suppose after running labels for as long as I have, you develop a feel for what works together. Not necessarily because everything sounds the same, but because there's a certain attitude or character that connects it.

That's probably the best way of describing TGOE. Good music made by interesting people that we think deserves a home.

Over the years we've worked with artists including Ron Trent, La Mano, Barnaby Bruce, Man Power, Nail plus more, with Nail's brilliant House Fire Records series becoming a big part of the label catalogue. It's a pretty varied bunch, which I think says a lot about what TGOE is about.

Next up is Nick Warrens 'Waves' on 25th September, with remixes from Paul James Nolan, Richard Norris and Simon Sheldon (The Freebooter Lounge). Again, a slightly different direction, but one that feels completely at home on the label.

NUNORTHERN SOUL ALL STARS

We started the All Stars series as a way of handing over the NuNorthern Soul Mixcloud to friends, artists and DJs whose musical taste we trust.

There aren't really any rules. Much like the label itself, it's about joining the dots between different sounds, tempos and eras, and hopefully turning up a few records you haven't heard before.

The latest comes from Zaynah & Jonboy of Cosmica.

Cosmica is a UK-based music project and label with its feet somewhere between Balearic, soul, disco, house and the slightly wonkier corners of the record collection. Which, unsurprisingly, makes them a pretty good fit for us.

Their 70-minute selection moves through music from the likes of Chris Coco, My Friend Dario, Ryo Kawasaki, The Swan And The Lake, Common Saints, Nick & Samantha and plenty more.

A lovely listen from start to finish.

I’ve been looking back through the music George Solar and I have released together on NuNorthern Soul over the last five years.

It started with 'Los Rayos Del Sol' back in 2021, and since then George has become a regular part of the label, with a steady run of releases, remixes and collaborations.

With the third and final 'Moonbeams In Dub' EP now out, it seemed like a good time to look back at everything we’ve done together.

Another new release out today from my label, NuNorthern Soul

The third and final instalment of George Solar 'Moonbeams In Dub' series sees Mike Alcaras, Marshall Watson and Silvio Astier take three of George’s tracks off in their own directions — from the subtle, spacious feel of 'O Luar' through to the deeper, heavier 'Countermoon' and Silvio’s reworking of 'Lunaticotina'.

Really pleased with how this whole series has come together, and it’s been great seeing the response from DJs and radio along the way.

**OUT NOW — B.J. Smith – Dedications To The Greats (Dubs and Reworks)**

Really pleased to have this one out in the world today.

B.J. Smith’s *Dedications To The Greats* series has been part of the NuNorthern Soul story since the early days of the label, so it felt right to revisit some of those recordings and hand them over to a couple of producers we knew would take them somewhere completely different.

Wrekin’ Havoc get to work on B.J.’s versions of Outkast’s **‘Hey Ya’** and **‘Prototype’**, bringing some low-slung, dubbed-out dancefloor energy, while Roots Artefact heads deeper with two beautifully spacious Dub Earth versions of **‘Don’t Be Cruel’**.

The reaction from DJs and radio people has been great, so a big thanks to everyone who has been playing and supporting it.

Dealing with the standard mid summer August bumps in the road but it’s stuff like this that makes them easier to navigate. Playing sunset last night at Hostal La Torre and had a very elegant European lady come and say how she cried at the most perfect sunset soundtrack and I was an artist pure and simple! That put the wind back in my sails then I got the attached message from another guest.

Back on track today!
