The mix climbs from 95 to 110 BPM, favoring patience over immediacy - extended transitions, subtle tempo shifts, and immersive atmosphere allowing each track room to breathe within a continuous emotional arc. Saudade, that specific ache of longing without a fixed object, is the emotional logic the sequencing follows.
Performed in Ableton Live 12 with an APC40 mkll and Midi Fighter Twister. Custom audio racks, live looping, and layered effects processing blur the boundaries between tracks while preserving the character of the originals.

Just like our last few winners, Aqueous has been a runner up several times in previous months already, and we've been consistently impressed with all of his submissions. His sound sits in the realm of atmospheric drum & bass, IDM and chillstep, and (just like his previous entries) his winning mix here is a flawless demonstration of his technical skills and sophisticated sound. We particularly enjoyed the track selection and flow of this latest entry from him - we’re thrilled to finally award him the extremely well-deserved top spot and we're looking forward to learning more about him!
