Overwhelmed by Netflix' super productive high quality spew we plumped for the suggested Pale Blue Eye. Yep, features a pretty eclectic big-name cast and references E.A.Poe relentlessly and includes a character called E.A. Poe. Oh cut my heart out and bury it under the floor-far away from the television.
I wouldn't recommend the film. I was left googling Timothy Spall. I have a soft spot for him since me and me Nan watched Auf Weidersehen together back in the...... F**k..... Forty years ago.
He has come a long way.

Or maybe it's us.

If I still kept a diary, today would say: BEST LUNCH EVER.
In keeping down power costs I was chef on a hot tin roof....cooking upstairs in my sunny catering kitchen using gas, bought last year and using one pot.
A nod to the Argentinian master firestarter Francis Mallman for the unfussy no chopping whole veg method.
Aubergine, sweet potato, courgette, red pepper, cauliflowers, garlic. Low heat lidded 90 mins.
I used a cast iron pot.

Divinely delicious.
