Ese aroma que te dice sin palabras: ya es verano en Málaga. ☀️

La biznaga no es solo una flor: es arte, es tradición y es uno de los símbolos más queridos de nuestra ciudad.
¿Sabías que se hace a mano con jazmines frescos sobre una caña seca? ¡Y que era el “perfume natural” de las noches malagueñas!

Such a lovely story for our guests visit today. The couple who were originally coming and had booked since last October, the wife just can't cope with the mountain roads as she suffers with severe vertigo, so staying at the same Bed and breakfast as them was a Honeymoon couple who they'd never met before last night, but gifted the experience to them.

The couple from Holland, said they felt like they we're living in a dream ❤️

Flavours of summer 🌞

Yesterday we had returning guests from California for another Cooking experience.

It was scorchio ! But we kept cool and created some delicious seasonal dishes.

Freshly picked vegetables from the patch, and market finds.

On the menu -

Green Gazpacho with nectarine and pomegranate molasses.

Brevas with goats cheese, jamón and Colmenar pistachios.

Peppers with piquant and sweet stuffing.

Spiced chicken and butternut squash, preserved lemon and almonds.

Orange blossom baked plums, lemon sorbet and lemon balm cookies.

Today's guests from Hawaii and California first came to La Rosilla 5 years ago, when Sarah (83) had just been given Spanish citizenship. It was a joy to welcome them again, and introduce Sarah's daughter Kim to La Rosilla.

Was scorchio, but we just took our time, and had a ball.

Today's menu -

Yesterday, the streets of Málaga were filled with the scent of summer — the Biznagueros were out in their crisp white shirts and traditional sashes, offering their delicate, hand-crafted biznagas.

Each one, a tiny work of art — fresh jasmine flowers carefully placed into dried thistle stems, releasing their intoxicating perfume.

A tradition full of love, patience and perfume — a symbol of Málaga’s soul.

On our way back to La Rosilla after a fab hiking trip to Ireland – and oh, the food! 🇮🇪💚

From late-night spice bag chips (yes, they’re a thing – salty, spicy, and strangely addictive 😅) to belly-busting full Irish breakfasts that kept us going all day.

Comfort pub grub, local sausages, venison and stews. Puds, crumbles and Bailey's cheesecakes, and just a few Irish coffees 😜

I cooked dinners in the youth hostel kitchen, made some very DIY packed lunches on our bed (Backpacking life!), and soaked up all the flavours along the way.

The big finale was a celebration treat to ourselves – a Michelin star chef’s table. Tiny plates, big flavours, and a seriously special way to end the trip.

Needless to say, although burning many calories each day, I've certainly made up for it and more.

Feeling full of inspiration (and potatoes), and ready to get cooking back at La Rosilla and In need of sunshine and salads and cheap glass of wine 😁 🥔🍽️✨
