Our screening of Harold Lloyd’s classic 'The Freshman' (1925) with live music was a success! The audience traveled back to the 1920s, laughing, cheering, and rediscovering one of silent cinema’s most charming comedies.

From the awkward college newcomer chasing popularity to the unforgettable American football match finale, the film shined in a whole new way with the live soundtrack elevating every moment.

✨ Thank you to everyone who joined us for this unique blend of vintage film and live performance — a magical night for cinephiles, musicians, and newcomers to silent cinema alike. Our next event of the series is planned for early February of 2026

Dziga Vertov’s avant-garde film is a must-see for movie enthusiasts. A century ago, this documentary about life in a big city, dancing to the rhythm of machines and factories, was not accepted by Vertov’s contemporaries, Soviet directors who avoided formalism. Nowadays the multiple-exposure footage, connecting Kyiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, and Moscow through the lens of Mikhail Kaufman, is considered a cinema classic
