In April I had the opportunity to join the 43rd annual course of human rights with the institute of human rights of Catalunya. This year the focus was on armed conflicts, authoritarian regimes and the rise of the far right. Through panels, virtual conferences, and workshops we explored International Systems for the Protection of Human Rights and Proposals to Address Global Challenges.

These are very brief experts from my after class reflection on my notes app. (The full reflections are on my highlights).

I learned so much, and met incredible people. One of the biggest takeaways I got from the experience was to not believe that you are alone in this struggle. Join a mutual aid, protest, movement, volunteer organisation… anything. If you only look at the news and not move, you will feel hopeless and all your grief and frustration will be for nothing when you inevitably burn out. There’s power in solidarity, not solitude. ✊🏽

First 6 months of 2025 were a ride.
Politically, emotionally, physically, spiritually… but here we are.
Celebrated friends.
Spoke on a panel with amazing creatives.
Started writing again.
Met incredible people.
Surprised my parents with a Mallorca trip.
Danced, laughed, cried…
Thank you friends for getting me through another year.

📚✨ Book Review: The Wretched of the Earth by Frantz Fanon ✊🏾

Fanon’s revolutionary text is a must-read for anyone committed to anti-colonialism and liberation struggles. Written during the Algerian fight for independence, this book digs deep into the psychological and violent impacts of colonization—on both the oppressed and the oppressors. Fanon argues that decolonization is a necessary and radical act, where the colonized must reclaim their dignity through resistance.
