What happens behind a five-day paragliding competition?

From 23 to 27 June, I was part of the staff of the Liga Nacional Boi 2026, helping with the organisation, daily briefings and pilot retrievals across the Boí Valley.

Being part of a competition is much more than what happens in the sky. It is also about logistics, teamwork, helping pilots and sharing the good vibes that make these events so special.

After more than fifteen competitions as part of different staff teams, this is a part of the world of flying that I continue to enjoy enormously.

A couple from China 🇨🇳 chose Barcelona to live the Pilot for a Day experience 👮✈️

I picked them up at their hotel in Barcelona.

I accompanied them to Sabadell Airport to fly a Cessna 172, and after the flight, drove them directly to Barcelona Airport, as it was their last day of holidays.

Takeoff from Sabadell, climbing towards Montserrat, and a scenic return along the Mediterranean coast over Pineda de Mar, Argentona, and the beaches of Barcelona.

From hotel pick-up to take-off… and all the way back home 🇨🇳

January doesn’t always offer the best paragliding conditions in Barcelona.
When that happens, I prefer to test solutions myself before recommending them.
This January I traveled to Morocco, flew in Arguergour, and stayed right next to the landing area.
Not to replace Barcelona, but to have a reliable option when conditions are not favorable.
