Rumpegalleriet is the world's first mooning gallery dedicated to the softer side of humanity – your derrière. The concept gallery lets you sell mooning portraits of yourself taken by the gallery artist and either keep the proceeds yourself or donate them to a charity of your choice. With an online generation increasingly anxious about body representation and nudity, the concept gallery seeks to reinvent the art of photographic portraiture by shining the spotlight on your naked rump, allowing the rebel within you to blossom. No other body part is as rebellious, sensuous, bashful yet ludicrous – in equal measure. That’s why mooning photos are so ultimately revealing and liberating. The gallery is inspired by Japanese Butoh theatre, which tightropes between soulful sensuality and unnerving rapture. The art gallery is dedicated to analogue photography and features changing exhibitions. The gallery engages in national and international festivals and partnerships.
