Vi er en familiedrevet virksomhed, som under en familierejse i Asien besøgte et af verdens vidundere – Ha Long Bay. På vores kajaktur i Ha Long Bay ramte klimaproblematikken os for alvor, da mængden af plast, flamingo og andet affald, som flød rundt midt i et af verdens vidundere, var skræmmende. På disse kajakture samlede vi affald op, som vi passerede på vores vej.
Denne oplevelse førte til mange snakke med børnene om, hvad vi som familie kunne gøre for klimaet og naturen.
En af de ting, som vi har holdt meget af, er altid at have en frisk buket blomster stående. Som på så mange andre fredage blev vejen lagt forbi blomsterhandleren, inden familien var samlet i køkkenet fredag eftermiddag. De ”gamle” blomster blev taget op af vasen og smidt væk for at gøre plads til de nye.
I samme sekund de gamle blomster ramte skraldespanden, sagde børnene: ”Skulle vi ikke passe på kloden? Det gør vi da ikke, når vi smider blomster ud efter kun en uge og køber nogle nye!”
Det var startskuddet til Living Flowers.
