I hate having to write this post, but basic courtesy seems difficult to some people so let me explain:
I have some very basic guidelines to follow when you share my photos and they're posted under every photo and in every gallery post.
Please provide proper credit when sharing my photos.
I'm glad you mention me by name, but please provide a proper link (tag) to my page or to my Instagram page when you share my photos.
Working as a concert / festival photographer for basically free of charge is already unforgiving as is trying to build an audience and getting recognition. A lot of work is being put into photographing, selecting and processing the photos after, to give you the best photos possible.
I also ask that you do not crop/edit my photos, nor remove my watermark in any way.
If you want my photos without a watermark, that is something we can discuss in private - again, I do this free of charge so this is my only method of building name recognition for myself as a concert and photographer. I've done this for many years already, I hate self-promoting.
I'm not calling out any specific band or individuals here, but it's a trend I've unfortunately seen again and again over the years. Also with individual band members using my photos as profile photos - totally cool, but do so with the basic courtesy of providing the proper credit with a link to my page(s).
On the opposite end of the spectrum, I've had bands reach out and ask for permission to share my photos, stating they'd provide proper credit and such. This is NOT a requirement - but I love the respect of asking first, you're my favorite people! Just provide the proper credit with a tag, and don't edit the photos and you're golden!
