My first ever attempt at growing onions, carefully nurtured over the last few weeks in seedling trays, and now our in the big outside world, ready to be exposed to all manner of slugs, snails, birds, frost and who knows what other onion lethal dangers I haven't thought of.

Can't help but think I should have kept them on the kitchen windowsill a few days more, but now it's too late. Good luck out there my little onions sprouts!

Getting ready for spring on Ellegården with friends visiting this weekend. We discovered the long grass around our fruit trees had been a hiding place for mice or voles that have been eating the bark and roots. So spent some time getting then spring ready. And then Saturday afternoon our once proud flag pole suddenly flopped to the ground in a stiff breeze.

Trees are now done and flag pole is up again, but we forgot the rope at the top of the flag pole, so we are going to have to take it down again, unless we can find someone to climb to the top!

Getting ready for tomato planting this spring - did you know that every single tomato you buy from the supermarket has seeds to grow about 150 - 300 new tomato plants?
This is my first time growing tomatoes, so just going for about 20 plants for now.

We just started putting together a program for the a men's summer gathering here at Ellegården. The focus is going to be "Classical man skills". We understand those as skills that have historically defined masculine competence across cultures and time periods. They enable a man to protect, provide, and lead, fulfilling his natural role in the family and community.
