Ironically, LGBT+ has gotten the reputation in Ghana of being a Western import.

This is looking away from the fact that the existing anti-gay law was imported by the Brits, and the religion that fuels the homophobic climate was imported by the Danes. Meanwhile, US evangelical groups have channelled millions of dollars into Africa, funding homophobic legislation.
