Some books that you can look forward to checking out at the upcoming Photography Book Club on the 26th of April at Phono .aarhus
#1 JAZZ KISSA is a book that explores Japanese listening café culture. The book is the result of 15 years of dedicated work by photographer and cultural historian Katsumasa Kusunose. It is worth mentioning that Jazz Kissa concept has served as a major inspiration for Slug Sunday events.
#2 DUST & GROOVES Vol.1 gives a photographic look into the world of vinyl record collectors. Photographer Eilon Paz spent years traveling around the world and managed to get close to collectors like Questlove, Gilles Peterson and King Britt.
#3 ŽYDĖJIMAS is a book by a Lithuanian photographer Romualdas Rakauskas. Filled with beautifully composed black and white images from the Soviet era. It has been released in 1984 and among all the charming scenes, surprisingly contains a couple of spicier images.
#4 by Dmitry Markov portrays as the author described it himself - “average Russia”. It is a book filled with gloomy imagery of everyday life in the province. Without moralizing or trying to soften the edges.
We welcome all types of photography books to be shared. See you on Sunday 🌞
