At THIS 2025, we look ahead to where the industry is going and how to get there. The industry thrives on transformation, and this week we present three sessions that dive straight into it.
Whether you’re a composer turning scripts into music, a producer shaping shows that spark conversation, or a director bringing real-life experiences into fiction, we’ve got you covered.
In his keynote “Future of Conversation – Something Shared in a Time of Individuality”, Nikolaj Vitting Hermann, Head of Content and Collaborations at The Danish Broadcasting Corporation, argues that the real challenge is to keep access to each other’s lives open and to create occasions where we share the same conversation.
The panel “Future of Stories – The Narratives Missing from Our Screens” brings together screenwriters Charlotte Bonnevie Mwakitalu and Shirin Aziz, journalist and documentary director Nagieb Khaja, and journalist and director Milan Ganesan to discuss representation, new voices, and the power of stories to reshape cultural understanding.
And in “Future of Translating Script into Music – The Emotional Engine of Storytelling”, film composer Halfdan E and music supervisors Thomas Golubić and Paulina Marquez pull back the curtain on how sound shapes narrative. From subtle choices of tempo to the unforgettable impact of the perfect cue, discover why music is storytelling in its own right.
