This year, four fresh faces join our jury, making up a team of five series industry pros ready to bring innovative perspectives to our future nominees.🙌🏾

This year’s full jury includes actor and screenwriter Diêm Camille, known for Amazon Primes’ action series ALEX RIDER and DR Ung's BAD BITCH; screenwriter Jesper Fink, who has recently worked on the feature films BIRTHDAY GIRL and VEJEN HJEM - both from 2024; Soundvenue's film editor Jacob Ludvigsen, who’s previously nominated talents for the SERIES AWARDS; casting director Gro Therp, with a massive portfolio including HUSET, SHORTA, and VOGTER; and our returning culture journalist and series expert Ann Lind Andersen, who's been with us since the very beginning.

10 DAYS OF EVENTS 🎉

We are excited to announce that we are expanding with a new film festival, AARHUS FILM DAYS, created in collaboration with Den Danske Filmskole and the iconic cinema Øst for Paradis 🎬

Together, THIS, Aarhus Series, and AARHUS FILM DAYS will make up our largest edition of the festivals yet, and all three festivals will contribute to an inspiring and entertaining program that spans over 10 days, starting October 27, 2023.

The first speakers for THIS have already been annouced, and we’re happy to welcome back Evan Shapiro, Professor of Media & Entertainment, who will us an overview of the current state of the media industry. April 12: SMALL talk with Michelle Kranot.

During 2023, THIS and Kunsthal Spritten invite you in on a series of SMALL talks on art and visual storytelling. Our first SMALL talk presents Michelle Kranot, an interdisciplinary artist and filmmaker, fusing handmade crafted images and new technologies into contemporary experiences. With a focus on animated documentaries - Kranot is the founder and leader of ANIDOX, a part of the Animation Workshop / VIA University Collage.

The SMALL talks series invites artists and creatives to share insights on the production of art, film, and digital culture in this age of rapid change and powerful new technologies. At THIS and Kunsthal Spritten, we share a passion for art in an expanded, digital field. We want to explore the intersection of artistic production, technology, and popular, digital culture. Our aim is to provide a platform for exciting new producers and futurist voices, to stimulate exchange and share knowledge across genres of digital art and culture.🧑‍🎨

THIS AND SERIESKOLEN JOIN FORCES.💚💚

Netflix and Filmtalent continue their united effort to support and develop new creative talents of serial storytelling in Denmark with their project 'Serieskolen'. THIS is collaborating with Serieskolen for their third edition of the talent development program.

During the last two editions of Serieskolen, more than 2200 people have participated in the free masterclasses, more than 100 creative souls and aspiring film and series creators have been through a talent development program with masterclasses, workshops, and coaching, and finally, Serieskolen has granted 7 teams with 100.000 DKK to produce a proof of concept for their own series.🎥

This year, in collaboration with THIS, all 12 teams selected for the second stage of Serieskolen will get the opportunity to participate in THIS SERIES for inspiration and networking. Furthermore, the teams that received the grants in 2022 will get the opportunity to pitch their ideas and proof of concept in front of the industry at the festival.🤩👏

THIS 2022 proudly presents the complete program for 2022. We've got drama bosses, Tribeca Festival, new premium series, AI, VR, games, communities, sustainability, new Nordic storytellers, and so, so much more.

The program is subject to change and final timeslots are yet to be decided, but this is what to expect:

November 1: THIS GAME

Full focus on community superpowers, game development & publishing, business models, immersive storytelling, and the media ecosystem.

November 2: THIS CONFERENCE

A day full of creative insights into new technologies, AI, VR, metaverses, and algorithms as well as creative storytelling across genres and platforms, and last but not least an important debate about sustainability at all levels in the media industry.

November 3: THIS SERIES

We proudly present creators from all over the world and particularly the Nordic. We look at some of the creative posibilites within the industry across borders. We have new Nordic storytellers, drama bosses, a look at the media universe, the newest big drama series, and a polticial debate about the state and future of the cultural scene.
