Inspired by the “Golden Era Emo” sound of the ’90s, Pennwood Rd. combines their diverse musical backgrounds and brings the genre’s DIY ethic into the present. Jangly guitars, infectious melodies and raw emotions - no unnecessary frills, but with lots of attention to detail.

spontaneity vs. conscious action is a reciporal play between urgency and rest. through layers of noise and fuzz, a mirror image of the most eccentric and forceful post-hardcore from 20 years ago reveals itself. raging like a thunderstorm, then again calm, before striking with even more eagerness. Samples and skits giving you just enough time to catch your breath, before the grip tightens again.

Weezer couldn’t come, but we got Sorry I’m Late instead. With their first EP and maybe a couple of new songs they will provide the nerd-rock-emo-punk-sound, Seth Cohen would have loved. Math Rockers Llana from Berlin even created a complicated formular for themselves. Adding up punchy time signatures with a captivating sound and dividing it with the square root of their jazzy influences times the sum of their talent, passion and experience times two. Didn’t get that? Just see for yourself then.
It wouldn’t be emo if there was no one screaming „boo hoo, i’m scared“, so we invited local emo-ultras Sunflower Radio to bring some melancholic yet playful rhythms to the game.
