COVID-19, Nobel Prize Winners, Cancer Vaccines, and New Therapeutic Treatments
Few medical topics have received as much public attention in recent years as mRNA technology. Corona has prompted many people to take a closer look at mRNA vaccines and their effectiveness. mRNA remains an exciting topic, as this technology also offers opportunities for prevention and cure for many other diseases.
Since yesterday, more than 900 researchers, scientists and representatives of the biopharmaceutical industry from all over the world have gathered for the 12th mRNA Health Conference in Boston, or are taking part via live stream.
The 3-day program is packed with presentations on current topics and challenges - the conference enables the exchange of experts from all fields and brings together participants from academic institutions and leading pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
For several years, Interplan is serving as the PCO for this congress. This year, we had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Patrick Baumhof, Senior Vice President of Technology at CureVac and a member of the conference’s planning committee.
We were keen to hear Dr. Baumhof’s perspective on the role of scientific conferences like the 12th International mRNA Health Conference in fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration among researchers.
According to him, conferences play a crucial role in bridging science and pharmaceuticals, closing gaps and advancing innovation. “Bringing people together who share the same passion fosters collaboration, leading to innovative solutions that translate into new products and therapies. Established in 2013, the mRNA Health Conference was the first event to unite researchers and key players in mRNA technology. The interplay between industry and researchers is very fruitful and has brought the mRNA field to where it is currently.”
For Dr. Baumhof, a personal highlight of the conference in Boston is “reconnecting with old friends, experiencing cutting-edge science, and engaging with new scientists and professionals in the field. The conference is an inspiring place to forge connections!”
