IFAT Munich 2026 brought together around 142,000 visitors from almost 160 countries and regions, alongside a record-breaking 3,400 exhibitors from over 60 countries. 🌍
For Stefan Rummel, CEO of Messe München, this record turnout is a clear sign of the systemic importance of the circular economy and water management. It also underscores the significance of IFAT Munich as a platform: “The trade fair enables crucial knowledge transfer and provides the industry with the visibility it needs to engage in dialogue with policymakers and set the right course for the future.”
The atmosphere in the exhibition halls, on the stages, and in the networking areas also contributed to this—an atmosphere characterized by curiosity, collaboration, and a shared commitment to helping shape the future of environmental technologies.
Dr. Johannes F. Kirchhoff, Chair of the IFAT Munich Advisory Board, added: “IFAT Munich 2026 has impressively demonstrated how the transition to a circular and resource-efficient economy can be implemented in practice—in a solution-oriented, cross-sectoral, and globally networked manner.”
And it is achieving these top results despite a shorter duration. For Philipp Eisenmann, Exhibition Director, this comes as no surprise. Because: “Contrary to the trend in many other industries, environmental technologies are a relevant growth market—and IFAT Munich has been the central platform for this for six decades.”
See you again in Munich in 2028 🙌💚
