Just like us, every elephant is unique.

Little Larro is an orphan who currently calls our Nairobi Nursery home. She’s a baby, so she’s pint-sized, but she has a heart befitting the biggest land mammal, as she will one day grow to become, having been afforded a second chance by the SWT.

Larro is only two years old, and already has an innate capacity for caring for the younger orphans, as well as a natural instinct to nurture weaker herd members – but she’s not alone. Elephants are expressive and intelligent, with sophisticated emotions including compassion and empathy. They also sport a trunk like no other animal – in fact from their multi-tool trunks to baggy knees, Africa-shaped ears to gleaming white tusks, elephants are a marvel.

Sadly, its these tusks that have made elephants a target for poachers, while their need to roam is increasingly bringing them into the path of ever expanding human populations. Poaching has wiped out 73% of Africa’s elephants, while human-wildlife conflict now threatens the long term future of those remaining. "Können wir nicht mal bisschen mehr lovely Disco Stuff auflegen?"

So beschreibt unser Felix Gesalzt (aka. La Espina) in den ersten Zeilen seiner Autobiografie "Ich bin Sexy, und ihr?", wie er mit dem Auflegen begann. Nach mittlerweile 3 Jahren hinter dem Mischpult verwechselt er nun nicht mehr den Play- mit dem CUE-Button und steigt von Klettverschluss auf Schnürsenkel um. Nur zu elitären Feten trägt er noch seine weißen Slipper, die ihn in der Leipziger Party-Szene bekannt gemacht haben. Durch seine vier linken Füße ist er bei dem ein oder anderen Open Air mehr Baum als Macher. Seine Stärken liegen klar im Entertainment. Und wir hoffen... er entertaint auch euch.
