„LGBTQ+ tourism is increasingly evolving from a niche market into a hallmark of quality for modern, internationally competitive destinations.“ 🌈

Travelers are paying closer attention than ever to how openly, safely and credibly destinations position themselves – and with the LGBTQ+ Risk Map 2026 showing a deteriorating legal situation in many parts of the world, that scrutiny is only growing.

In our latest interview, Thomas Bömkes, Managing Director of Diversity Tourism, explains what Pride Season really means for destinations, how LGBTQ+ travelers‘ expectations are shifting, and why authenticity beats rainbow washing every time.

Travel is for everyone. But not everywhere. 🌈
New challenges revealed with the LGBTQ+ Tourism Rsik Map.

The LGBTQ+ Tourism Risk Map 2026 – published by Riskline & Safeture, and by A3M Global Monitoring in cooperation with ITB Berlin and Diversity Tourism – show a worrying global trend: rights for q***r travelers are being rolled back in more places than they are being won.

For our industry, this is not an abstract statistic. It is a duty of care question, and a reminder of why visibility matters.
