The European Games Award is the first award exclusively for European video and computer game developers, which lets professionals and gamers from all over Europe participate in the voting for the best games. The award ceremony – after having been held in Cologne (Germany) for two years – will then take place in a different European capital each year. The première of the European Games Award on Aug

ust 14th 2010 took place in an extraordinary location: on the Pure Liner, an event ship, which left Niehler Harbor in Cologne and sailed along the Rhine during the award ceremony. The European Games Award demonstrates how many important games are developed in Europe, and honors the work of the developers, publishers and all those involved in the production and marketing of games.
