Personal, story-led ceremonies in English and German. Over 600 ceremonies created since 2011. I am passionate about offering couples a choice - when it comes to their wedding day it really should be a ceremony to reflect their style, relationship, belief and of course their individual journey to this moment and those dreams that are to be realised together. As an independent celebrant with over 14

years experience and 550 amazing ceremonies in a huge variety of venues and locations - your ceremony will be in good hands. I’m a true believer in celebrating Love, Family and life’s major milestones with style and with fun and laughter. My ceremonies are meaningful, authentic and inspiring in their own way - you are the centre of this special moment and we create a bubble of love for you both that allows you to relax and fully enjoy this wonderful moment. There are no restrictions on the format, content, style or location of your ceremony. I’m bilingual too - so my ceremonies for my German and English speaking couples have that extra touch of inclusivity. I embrace all couples and all lifestyles and will happily blend faith, religion, spirituality, culture and heritage to ensure that you are fully seen, heard, respected and supported with a ceremony that is going to hold meaning for you in a way like no other. You will have freedom to express yourself and with your partner we will create something magical. I love to say yes- to all ideas and styles. I am as happy leading a themed wedding as I am leading a traditional ceremony. It’s always about you and making sure you’re the stars of your day. I am based in Potsdam Germany, and create beautiful Elopements and destination weddings in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as in London and the Home Counties. I am of course available for ceremonies anywhere in the world too! Connect with me for details of how we can work together, and let me share with you my contacts with awesome wedding planners in both England and Europe too! May Wedding Series - continued!

What? A romantic bilingual ceremony!
Who? International guests from the UK, Germany, USA and beyond!
Where? Manchester Art Gallery, referencing where they originally met.
Why? Because it means so much!

There's a moment in every bilingual ceremony where a guest hears their language spoken for the first time and I can feel them relax, smile and settle into being present in the ceremony.

That moment is one of my favourite things about this work and I love how inclusive and caring my couples are, and how everyone can really hear their love story.

Kelly and Marius moved between English and German with the ease of people who have always lived between two worlds. Their ceremony was a reflection of their worlds and cultures.

Two lovely reviews in two days! I am so touched by my couples taking the time to write and share their experiences!

“Yvonne is incredible, she felt like family from the first meeting - which is exactly the vibe I wanted from a celebrant.

I was so afraid before finding Yvonne that our speaker might be aloof, or distant or too formal - or i’m not sure. But Yvonne was the perfect mix of professional and friendly throughout.

Thank you for making our day so magical, and for all your support leading up to the day. You’re a star!!!!”

It was an absolute joy to stand with J and D on a beautiful May afternoon beside a stunning lake just outside Berlin and deliver a heartfelt ceremony.

This was their dream- to celebrate with their families and besties. To laugh, to cry, to dance, to simply feel alive with love and the love of their families and friends. And they did it!!

J and D - can I say how honoured I was to read your love story, to create your ceremony and to stand with you on a beautiful day filled with joy. Thank you both so much!!

Holding a bilingual ceremony for family and guests is always a lovely inclusive way for everyone to feel welcomed and special.

Guests sit with anticipation and the way they relax when they hear their own language is so special. I love the moment I switch from one language into the other.

But for Dan and Lisa’s wedding in a private garden in Oxfordshire they wanted to involve their closest family members as their on the day celebrants. So I wrote a ceremony which both could deliver and we refined everything in a short coaching call a week before the wedding.

Everything went perfectly!!

Thank you Dan and Lisa for your kind words. It was an absolute pleasure to work with you and your Celebrants.

A self led ceremony is a perfect way to have a personalised experience without the weight of writing the words yourselves or asking someone else to do it. The moments are too precious and go so quickly but the feelings remain and having a experience professional there to create and support you and if necessary coach your own chosen celebrant is something I like to offer as another personal choice and perspective.

What a gorgeous setting for a E and N’s Bilingual Wedding Ceremony at Wild Weddings Preston near Canterbury yesterday.

We had an emotional reading from the Grooms mum - all about friendship and how the chain is uniquely connected throughout life.

We had a ring warming which when I asked for a show of hands as who had experienced this before and only one hand went up - well it was clear from comments later that this was also an emotional and inclusive moment for many.

The weather played nicely for the Ceremony and we were all tucked in nicely later under canvas in the woodland for the Reception!

I was invited to stay as a guest and loved meeting and sharing stories with so many of their friends and family. The food was scrummy and I hardly wanted to use the personalised embroidered napkin the groom had only finished working on the day before!!

With so much love and happiness in the room it really was an honour to spend so much time with E and N - and wish them every possible happiness and success.

Photos are all my own.

May Weddings series.... continued!

One of my absolute favourite images - Christina and Jeffrey, who decided to elope to beautiful Eibsee, with Germany's highest mountain as their "witness".

Just the two of them, making their forever promises. Eibsee, glorious at any time of year, but especially in May, with its turquoise water and the German Alps wrapping around the lake. There's a particular peace you feel, you relax and simply enjoy being together in your personal adventure.

Elopements have a quality that larger weddings rarely do - because everything is authentic, relaxed and stress-free . There are no rules, or requirements to perform.

Christina and Jeffrey knew exactly what they wanted, and it was my absolute pleasure to create it with them.

Five Mays. Four countries. Five couples who knew exactly what they wanted and went and did it.

An elopement at Eibsee with the Zugspitze overhead. A US veteran in dress uniform in an Alpine meadow near Grainau. A bilingual ceremony amongst the Lowry paintings in Manchester. An intimate castle wedding in the hills of Hessen. And a ceremony on an alpine meadow above Lake Lucerne that ended, memorably, with a thunderclap and champagne on the terrace.

Every one of these couples travelled for their ceremony. Every one of them chose meaning over convention. And every one of them built something that was entirely, recognisably theirs.

I’ve been writing about all five over on the blog this week, and if you’re somewhere in the early stages of dreaming about your own wedding or elopement, I hope it gives you something to hold onto.

The third issue of The Ceremony Edit is out today.
This month I had planned to write about why the ceremony sets the tone for everything that follows on a wedding day. And I will, next time. But May got in the way.

Over the past four years I've led ten ceremonies in May across Germany, Switzerland, England, and the German Alps. In this issue I've been thinking about what that month actually offers couples who are planning a destination wedding or elopement in Europe, and what it means for the planners and photographers working alongside them.

Five of these couples are the topic of my latest blog which you can read here @ https://celebrantinlondon.co.uk/2026/05/27/may-destination-weddings-europe/

If you work with international couples, or advise them on where and when to celebrate, I think there's something in here for you.

A note for planners, photographers, and anyone advising couples on when and where to celebrate in Europe I had planned to write this month about why the ceremony sets the tone for everything that follows on a wedding day. And I will, next time, I promise.

Preparing to do a walkthrough for today’s wedding in a beautiful villa in front of Lake Wannsee just outside Berlin was a pretty breezy affair but the weather held well despite rain these past days - but everything looks lush in May and this stunning location is perfect - accommodation, reception, indoor and outdoor ceremony options, great staff and a totally chill vibe.
